Former P-Square publicist Bayo Adetu has opened up about the brothers’ strained relationship and the issues behind their prolonged family dispute.
Adetu, who worked closely with the P-Square brothers during the early years of their career, offered fresh insight into their working relationship, the role of third parties and Jude Okoye’s contribution to the group’s success.
He also addressed claims involving Lola Omotayo and shared his thoughts on whether the iconic music duo can reunite. 
‘They were workaholics and prayer warriors’
Adetu revealed a lesser-known side of the brothers’ professional lives.
He described them as hardworking musicians who took their faith seriously.
According to him, the brothers fasted and prayed before releasing singles or albums. They also held hands and prayed backstage before performances.
He said he was unsure whether they maintained those practices after pursuing solo careers.
“They’re workaholics and prayer warriors. Before the release of any single or album, they fast and pray. I’m not sure if they still do that as solo artists. Before every performance, they hold hands backstage and pray before going on stage.”
Role friends played in P-Square fight
Adetu also blamed some friends for worsening the brothers’ disagreements. He accused some associates of carrying private conversations between Peter and Paul.
“Some friends who were dining and wining with them on a regular basis were easily taking sides. I wasn’t comfortable with the fact that some of them would speak to Peter, then tell Paul everything he said and vice versa.”
He said only a few people genuinely worked toward reconciliation.
‘Lola Omotayo is unfairly blamed’
Adetu rejected claims that Lola Omotayo caused the P-Square family crisis. He described such accusations as unfair and defended her character.
“From the inception of the P-Square rift, people have been saying that, but it’s totally unfair to her. Nobody is perfect, but in my opinion, she’s a good woman.”

Adetu also said he never witnessed members of the Okoye family openly disrespecting Lola.
“I didn’t witness any of that. Everybody may not like her, but that doesn’t mean she’s a terrible person. Even Jesus Christ, not everyone liked Him when he was here on earth.”
He acknowledged that not everyone may like her but rejected attempts to portray her negatively.
P-Square reconciliation: ‘Nothing is impossible for God’
Adetu urged Peter, Paul and Jude to prioritise reconciliation and strengthen their relationship with God.
He described the prolonged conflict as painful and unnecessary. He urged the brothers to read the Bible, meditate and reconsider their priorities.
Adetu also questioned how they would react if any of them should suddenly die before mending fences. He asked if the other camp will jubilate?
He believes such a loss could force them to recognise the value of reconciliation. He charged them:
“They should move closer to God. This life is vanity. As Christians, they should read the word of God constantly and meditate on it. This will open their spiritual eyes to see that nothing in this world is worth fighting for, not to this extent. It’s really embarrassing. God forbid, if Jude dies today, how will Peter feel? Will he start jubilating? Or if it was to be Peter, will Jude or Paul start celebrating? Should we wait for such time before they realise this reality? I pray God touches their hearts.”
He also rejected calls for Jude to completely withdraw from the brothers’ affairs.
According to him, Jude had stayed away for years, yet the conflict continued. P-Square also reunited without Jude before eventually splitting again.
For Adetu, that proves Jude does not represent the root of their problems.
“But he has left them alone for about 10 years now, yet the issues were not resolved. The last time P-Square came back, Jude was not involved, yet they still broke up. Jude is not the problem.”
He remains uncertain about another P-Square reunion.
“From the human perspective, I will say it’s not possible because the damage is very deep.”
However, he believes divine intervention could still restore the relationship.
“There’s nothing impossible for God. He’s the only one who can intervene and bring normalcy.”
