Over the years, several BBNaija housemates disqualified from the show have left viewers shocked, with reasons ranging from physical violence and aggression to serious breaches of Big Brother’s rules.
Although Nomy’s disqualification seems to be the most talked about, it is not the first in the Big Brother Naija House. There are other names familiar to long-time fans, including Kemen, Khloe, K-Brule, Tacha, Erica, Beauty Tukura, and Faith.
Here’s why each of them was removed, and why Nomy’s disqualification from Season 11 (“Show Ya Sef”) has become the most talked-about.

Kemen (Season 2: See Gobe, 2017)
Kemen’s disqualification was the first-ever. He was removed after footage in the house showed him inappropriately touching female housemate TBoss while she was asleep. The incident sparked widespread outrage over consent and boundaries, which led to his immediate exit.
Khloe and K-Brule (Season 3: Double Wahala, 2018)
Khloe and K-Brule are the only pair to be disqualified together. They both accumulated three strikes for aggressive behaviour and physical confrontations. The final flashpoint came when Khloe used derogatory language about K-Brule’s mother. The altercation triggered a fight that sealed their fate.
Tacha (Season 4: Pepper Dem, 2019)
Tacha was disqualified for physical violence during a heated clash with Mercy Eke. Hence, the disqualification can be classified as high-profile. She was found guilty of pushing, shoving, and pulling Mercy’s hair. These are acts that Big Brother ruled as violence and intent to harm. Tacha was disqualified, and Mercy received two strikes for provocation.
Erica (Season 5: Lockdown, 2020)
After a series of breaches, Erica received her third and final strike. She used abusive language toward housemates (especially Laycon), poured water on the Head of House’s bed to prevent another contestant from sleeping there, and engaged in other confrontations that violated house rules.
Beauty Tukura (Season 7: Level Up, 2022)
In the Level Up season, Beauty got disqualified within the first two weeks for aggressive behaviour. She threw her wig and glasses at Groovy during an argument after getting physical with Ilebaye earlier. Big Brother ruled the repeated misconduct unacceptable.
Faith (Season 10: 10/10, 2025)
Faith was removed late in the season after a physical altercation with Sultana during a group task. He dragged a basket containing materials, which made Sultana fall and sustain injuries (including a twisted ankle).
Nomy (Season 11: Show Ya Sef, 2026)
Whitney “Nomy” Chukwu became the latest, and the first this season, to be disqualified on disciplinary grounds. Her privilege to participate was revoked on September 7 after repeated defiance of Big Brother’s instructions.
The final incident occurred while she served as Bench Warmer because she finished last in a Head of House challenge. Nomy was required to wear a designated vest, remain on an assigned bench, and perform related duties. However, she abandoned both the bench and the vest.
This incident followed an earlier strike on 9 August, which was described as her “last and final warning,” for similar defiance, lateness, and selective participation. Despite the clear warning, the pattern continued.
Nomy’s Dream Before the Disqualification
Interestingly enough, the day before her disqualification, Nomy told housemate Oyin that she had dreamed the lights were turned off on her.
Oyin interpreted it as a possible sign that she was about to do something that would cause people to withdraw their support. The next day, the lights effectively went out on her BBNaija journey. Many fans have described the dream as a prophetic warning she didn’t fully heed.
Why Nomy’s Disqualification Is the Most Talked About
Most previous disqualifications involved physical violence, aggression, or, in Kemen’s case, sexual misconduct. Nomy’s disqualification, by contrast, centres on sustained, non-violent defiance of house rules and punishments.
A strong-willed, outspoken personality already defined her time in the house. She frequently clashed over instructions. Some viewers saw her as authentic and unapologetic while others viewed her as disrespectful toward Big Brother’s authority.
When the final Bench Warmer breach led to an outright revocation of her privilege, it turned a simmering debate into the season’s biggest talking point.
The dream detail has amplified the conversation too. Combined with the fact that this was the first pure disciplinary removal of Season 11, it upended the house dynamic and gave fans a clear, current event to analyse.
