New Music Friday Nigerian songs arrive this week with a mix of established stars, fast-rising acts and cross-border collaborations. This weekend’s music line-up is not one to miss. Enjoy new music from your favourite artistes
1. Pray – R. City featuring Ayra Starr
R. City’s Caribbean-American production duo brings Ayra Starr into Pray. Chartmetric listed Ayra Starr at 19.3 million Spotify monthly listeners on October 22, giving the collaboration an immediate reach signal.
2. Burukutu – Olamide
Olamide’s Burukutu arrived during the October 20–21 release rollout, so it is included as a recent momentum pick rather than a song released today. The street-pop and hip-hop track leads into his forthcoming project, Time and Space, and keeps a major Nigerian name in the guide.
3. OGO – Shallipopi
Shallipopi’s OGO arrives from the three-track project WayWard. The release carries his street-pop identity and appeared in current release-day homepage and playlist listings, giving it strong early visibility.

4. UP (Transovania) – Shallipopi
The second Shallipopi selection, UP (Transovania), also comes from WayWard. Its same-day appearance alongside OGO makes the short project one of Friday’s clearest street-pop releases to explore.

5. GAGA – Larry Gaaga featuring Peruzzi
GAGA is part of Larry Gaaga and Peruzzi’s two-song release on October 23. The pairing gives the track an established collaboration behind it while allowing listeners to hear a new entry from both artists.
6. Goyard – Mavo
Mavo’s Goyard follows weeks of attention around snippets shared on TikTok and Instagram. Apple Music lists it as the Nigerian artist’s latest October 23 release, while its release-day visibility gives it one of the clearest early audience signals among the newer names here.
7. Time – SAMAD
SAMAD’s Time was released on October 23 through Samad Music Worldwide. The Afrobeats single follows his recent collaboration with Bella Shmurda and draws on the motivational side of his blend of melody, Yoruba, Nigerian Pidgin and rap-influenced vocals.
8. Gbemilo – Danny S
Danny S returns with Gbemilo, one half of the two-track project Anthem. The October 23 release takes a reflective route, focusing on prayer, faith and the search for divine support rather than the more energetic side of his street-pop catalogue.
9. Young Alhaji – Whally featuring BhadBoi OML
Whally and BhadBoi OML built anticipation for Young Alhaji with an online snippet and TikTok challenge before the official October 23 release. That pre-release activity gives the collaboration a clear early social signal as both artists reach for a wider audience.
10. Ugo – Paragon QTM featuring Hugo P
Paragon QTM and Hugo P meet on Ugo, a same-day Nigerian rap release produced by Rockswaya. It brings an indigenous rap angle to a list otherwise weighted toward street-pop and Afrobeats.
