In a hilarious yet heartfelt twist to the celebrity single life saga, Nigerian comedienne and actress Damilola “Princess” Adekoya has taken to Instagram to publicly petition a lineup of Nigeria’s popular pastors for help finding her future husband and the internet is eating it up.

Comedienne Princess, who is divorced and openly ready to mingle, didn’t mince words in her video appeal

She tagged prominent clerics, including Pastor Jerry Eze, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Apostle Joshua Selman, and Pastor Femi Lazarus. She urged them to send her the Instagram handles of any kind, responsible single men they know.

From Prayers to Practical Steps: “Faith With Action”

Comedienne Princess said she’s taken every spiritual step her favourite pastors preach (prayer, fasting, reflection). But now she wants results that match the sermons. After all, she joked, you preach boldness, backing it with action. So, now she’s acting.

“I need a kind and responsible man to marry. I’m tired. I must be married in 2026,” Princess declared in the video. She explained that she’s set a target engagement window of September 2026.

She’s particular about her type. For her, only men in their 40s or early 50s, including widowers or divorcees qualify. Separated men are not allowed.

Princess explained she’s been dropping comments and DMs on pastors’ posts for a while. But, she’s done these only to be met with laughs and online mockery. Now, she says, it’s time for genuine matchmaking support from the faith leaders she follows.

She asked the clerics to simply send her the Instagram handles of eligible men from their congregations. Then, she can take the romance from ‘Hi’ to the ‘Aisle’.

If nothing happens after her video plea, she teased that she’ll keep calling them out. According to her, maybe even with sponsored posts, until someone delivers.

Fans React in The Comment Section

Under her Instagram post, comments ranged from empathy to prayers for her and others sharing their experiences. Some single Nigerian women joined her in pleading with these clerics about their own struggles.

Some of the comments read:

  • @officialblackebony commented, “From your mouth to God’s ears.”
  • @olajumoekemi wrote, “Princess, I commend your boldness. Awon pastors don buy market. Congratulations in advance!”
  • @fadkemi_ashabi1 reacted, “Congratulations in advance! In Jesus’ name, your marriage will be blessed with beautiful children. Your testimony will sound like a lie IJN. I’ll buy Aso Ebi o”

Comedienne Princess’s request isn’t her first public brush with marriage topics, especially since her marriage to Yoruba movie actor and producer, Jeremiah Adeshola, in 2013 ended in a divorce.

Her comedic brand thrives on blending vulnerability with levity. But this time, she’s all in for love with divine and digital introductions.
