The AMVCA is never just about the awards.
Every year, Africa’s biggest award show for movies, television, and digital content delivers a mix of creativity and fashion. From Young Filmmakers’ Day and Icons’ Night to Cultural Day and the highly anticipated Awards Night, we are served the finest looks and fashion.
This year’s Cultural Night was no different. The hairstyles channeled African heritage, while the dresses showcased cultural creativity.
Here are some of the best looks from the AMVCA 12th edition Cultural Night.
Osas Ighodaro

Osas is not a first-timer; she never comes to the red carpet to play.
Let’s start with her hairstyle: magnificent. No other style would have better matched her red dress by Amy Aghomi, which was beaded in a Kente pattern. The gold accessories in her hair, necklace, and wrists—paired with her hand fan—balanced her portrayal of the richness of Ghanaian royalty. A star girl indeed!

Bucci Franklin

Tell me you are the lead actor in a blockbuster without telling me you are the lead actor in a blockbuster… Brotherly was on point!
The To Kill A Monkey lead was regal in his outfit. From the cap to the staff, he ATE. Amy Aghomi made Franklin a red carpet showstopper. The attention to detail was superb, featuring wooden monkeys on both sides of his kimono and another on the back. The beads provided the bling, and the coral neckpieces and bracelets were everything we could ask for.
Prince Nelson Enwerem

Opulence, royalty, and class. Blue is the new gold, because the wealth in that ensemble was undeniable.
Dressed in Amydiddy, Enwerem reminded us of the African prince he is. It looks like the men are catching up to the vibe of beaded outfits, as he looked incredible shining bright like a diamond. The Itsekiri of Delta State (and their neighbors in Edo) couldn’t be prouder.
Thelma Lawson

Let’s add white to the list of royal colors immediately! Thelma looks like Her Royal Highness in this dress.
Pepple Robert understood the assignment, and we are just as happy as Lawson must have felt wearing it. While her hairstyle was simple, the ancestors would surely be proud. The multi-colored beaded top was a breathtaking display of creativity and cultural appreciation, accented with corals and cowries.
Grandprince ITA

Grandprince went all the way to Kenya and brought back this Maasai fit!
Wrapped in the shúkà—a striking red-and-black checkered fabric—this is what a royal warrior looks like: legendary. The layered beadwork around his neck blooms like a crown of culture, bold enough to command attention without a single word. Holding a spear with quiet confidence, every accessory—from the beaded belt to the ankle details—adds rhythm and color to the regal simplicity of the ensemble. Grandprince is giving fierce, cultural, and unapologetically majestic vibes all at once.
Okawa Shaznay

The delectable Shaznay brought North-Western Cameroon to the red carpet.
Looking dashing, every detail felt intentional. The red, black, and silver tones created a regal rhythm deeply rooted in African heritage. Sammielle Luxe created a masterpiece. However, the real showstopper was her sculptural hairstyle; shaped like a crown of loops, it turned her into a living piece of art.
Mercy Eke

Drenched in rich crimson beads from head to hem, this look was pure royalty wrapped in elegance. As one of the best looks at the AMVCA12 cultural day, her coral accessories and regal headpiece elevated the outfit, making her look like an African queen. There were many red dresses, but Mercy served something bold, luxurious, and impossible to forget.
Dede

If we hadn’t seen her live and direct, we might have joined those calling it AI-generated—Dede looked AWEmazing!
This look is where softness meets power in a breathtaking way. The fiery red cape draped around her like royalty in motion, while the sparkling corset added drama, structure, and undeniable glamour. The white skirt beautifully balanced modern luxury with deep cultural elegance. Every step in this ensemble looked like a scene from an epic African fairytale.
Tacha

As usual, Tacha brought drama, luxury, and cultural elegance. Her sculpted wine-colored skirt by Prudential Atelier, which bloomed like a rose, was the highlight. The layered coral beads around her neck, wrists, and headpiece screamed cultural sophistication. Even her beaded shoes felt intentional, dripping in detail and echoing the regal energy of the outfit. We love to see it.
Stan Nze

Last but certainly not least: the host of the day, Stan Nze. He represented!
He gave us one of the best looks at the AMVCA12 cultural day. His look carried the quiet authority of a king. The crisp white attire with coral embellishments felt both sacred and regal. His coral beads and matching cap added richness and status, while the symbolic embroidery on the front told a story bigger than fashion itself. It was an elegant, commanding look fit for a host.
