Blazing a trail for his school, The Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC), Adeiza Ismail Bashir scored 365 out of a total obtainable score of 400 this year in the just-concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organized by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB). UTME is the rigorous gateway to university admission in Nigeria.
The 16-year-old Bashir, from Kogi State, delivered a near-flawless performance in the core science subjects. He earned a 98 in Mathematics, 98 in Physics, 98 in Chemistry, and 71 in English, bringing his total score to 365. These scores represent countless hours of focused study. The school promptly took to Facebook to celebrate his excellent results.
Bashir is interested in Software Engineering and hopes to study at the prestigious Bayero University in Kano State.

Close behind him from the same school were two others. Dauda Abba Hussaini, with an impressive 359, is another standout who helped elevate the school’s collective profile. Not to be overlooked is Tijjani Ahmed El Yaqub, who scored 346. His balanced strengths shone through with a 94 in Mathematics, 94 in Physics, 87 in Chemistry, and a solid 71 in English.
The school made an announcement showing their wave of success, noting that multiple students scored past the 300 mark. In 2025, the school celebrated even higher scores. Kaamilah Kareem earned an outstanding 371 (comprising 98 in Mathematics, 98 in Physics, 97 in Chemistry, and 78 in English). Kennedy Onyinyechukwu Okadike also scored 370.
These young achievers represent hope for Nigeria’s educational landscape. They prove that with the right guidance, African youth can compete at the highest levels.
