For years, actress and media personality Nancy Isime has remained consistent on one subject: relationships and money. Whether she is discussing marriage, financial independence, or personal boundaries, the actress has repeatedly argued that love should not come at the expense of financial stability or individual privacy.
Her latest appearance on the Tea With Tay podcast has once again placed those views in the spotlight. During the interview, Nancy challenged the idea that love alone is enough to sustain a marriage. “Marriage is not a poverty alleviation scheme,” she said. She added that while love is important, financial hardship can place enormous pressure on couples.

“I don’t believe marrying a poor man can make you happy. When rent is due, school fees can’t be paid, and there is no food in the house, it is difficult to have a fantastic life. I’m not saying there is no love without money. But love and a fantastic life are not the same.” Nancy explained that she was not dismissing love. Rather, she argued that financial readiness gives couples a better chance of building a stable home and raising a family with less pressure.
The actress expressed a similar position days later during an appearance on the Thanks For Coming podcast, hosted by Grand Prince Ita. Asked whether she would ever tell a man how much she earns, Nancy made her position clear. “I never discuss three things: my money, my money, my money.” When asked if she would disclose her earnings to a husband or partner, she replied: “Tell a man how much I earn? For what? I don’t want him to discuss this with me either.” She went further, saying she has no interest in knowing how much her partner earns. Instead, she believes each person’s finances should remain their private responsibility.
Nancy believes marriage should be built on love, but not on financial dependence. She also believes financial stability makes it easier for couples to enjoy marriage, while personal income should remain a private matter between individuals unless they choose otherwise
