A married man in Ghana, identified as David Acheampong, has become the subject of intense family controversy after admitting he impregnated his wife’s younger sister, Okyere Sophia.
The issue was brought to light on ‘Sompa Nkomo’, a programme hosted by media personality Oheneni Adazoa, which focuses on addressing domestic and relationship challenges.
Speaking about the incident, Acheampong acknowledged his actions and apologised, describing the situation as a regrettable mistake.
According to him, tensions in his marriage had been building for months, claiming his wife had refused to be intimate with him for about three months. He said the frustration led to the incident with his sister-in-law, something he now deeply regrets.
Acheampong also revealed that he initially asked Sophia to terminate the pregnancy, saying he was worried about the backlash and the impact it could have on the family. Since the story surfaced, it has sparked widespread debate, with many people sharing their views on marital problems, personal responsibility, and the need to respect boundaries within families.
During the programme, Sophia shared her side of the story, claiming that Acheampong had been making advances toward her for some time and would often refer to her as his “junior wife.”

She explained that she repeatedly rejected his advances and sometimes threatened to tell her sister, which would make him stop for a while. Acheampong also revealed that the situation has left him feeling embarrassed and ashamed, adding that he initially asked Sophia to terminate the pregnancy due to the potential fallout within the family.

The revelation has since sparked widespread discussion, with many people debating issues surrounding marital conflict, personal responsibility and family boundaries. Media personality Oheneni Adazoa revealed the issue on Sompa Nkomo, her programme focused on discussing domestic disputes and relationship challenges.
Speaking on the programme, Sophia shared her account of events, alleging that Acheampong had repeatedly made advances toward her and often referred to her as his “junior wife.” She explained that she had consistently rejected his advances and sometimes threatened to inform her sister, which would make him stop temporarily. However, she said the situation escalated one day when her sister was not at home.
Sophia recounted that after taking a bath and wrapping herself in a towel, Acheampong entered her room without knocking. She said a struggle ensued before he had sexual relations with her. According to her, he later gave her money to prevent her from reporting the incident to her sister.
