Pete Edochie Speaks on His Health Struggles
The Nollywood veteran spoke about his health struggles for the very first time during his visit to Ghana. Pete Edochie noted that he has been struggling with his health:
“Sitting down here, I’m not very well myself. Walking is a problem for me now, but I still have hope that I will recover,” he said.
Sometimes I get up, and parts of my body are swollen, and after some time they go down again. Like my hand is swollen now, my leg,” the legendary Nollywood actor added.
The older Edochie went further, expressing a deeply personal prayer:
“I just keep asking God, ‘You are the author of life. Whenever you feel it is time for me to go, just take me. Don’t let me bother the people who are around me. Just take me!”

Edochie noted that Armah was an excellent actor and the first Ghanaian actor to star in a Nollywood film, which he also starred in.
“I haven’t seen Armah for years. Seeing him now, it’s difficult for me to blink tears back from my eyes,” Edochie said.
Emmanuel Armah’s health challenges reportedly began years ago while he was working in the United States. There, he had undetected high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol, which led to serious complications.
Despite the difficulties, Edochie maintained a hopeful outlook and used the visit to encourage Armah. The reunion took an emotional turn as he prayed for his quick recovery and offered financial support toward his care.
The 67-year-old is currently undergoing physiotherapy in Accra and remains mentally sharp, according to his wife, Stella Amina Armah.
The emotional encounter between the two veteran actors has circulated widely online and has drawn concern and prayers from fans across Nigeria and Ghana.
