Neighbours of a compound in Kenya have found almost hundreds of bottles allegedly filled with urine in a man’s single-room apartment. The bottles of urine had accumulated for almost two years while the man reportedly refused to use the communal toilets.
According to Tuko, neighbours had always noticed a persistent foul odour emanating from the man’s room. One day, after he left home, they decided to investigate. Inside, the discovered bottles of various sizes were scattered across the floor with almost no space to walk. Some containers on tables also had yellowish liquid of varying shades in them.

This tenant had lived in the compound for about two years, but none of his neighbours recalled seeing him use the shared toilet in the compound. One neighbour said: “There has been a foul smell coming from his house, and today we finally managed to enter after he left. We found that he has been urinating into bottles for the past two years.”
Apart from the bottles of urine that filled the room, making it almost uninhabitable, there were basic items like a bed, a fan and his clothes.
Videos of this horrific sight have gone viral on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X. Many expressed genuine concern for the man’s well-being, suggesting possible mental health struggles like depression. Others reacted with disgust and disbelief.

On the other hand, some criticised the neighbours for breaking into his room, raising concerns about privacy versus community welfare in shared living spaces.
While urinating in containers instead of using a toilet is not entirely unheard of, this instance points strongly toward a deeper psychological or health concern.
As of the time of this report, the contents of the bottles have not been independently verified.
