Nigerian influencer and model Diana Eneje is in Nairobi for the second time, and this trip isn’t just for tourism. She is there on business, bringing ‘The Shine Cartel’s’ first-ever international pop-up to Kenya. But before reaching the milestone, there was a rough ride; literally.
Eneje took to social media to publicly criticise Kenya Airways, claiming their business class felt like economy. Her main complaint was about the seats being too cramped for a service marketed as premium. For a woman who flew business class expecting a level of comfort that matches the price, the experience was disappointing.
Who She Is

Diana Eneje is a Nigerian influencer, model, and entrepreneur with a strong social media following. She first gained attention appearing in Rema’s music video for ‘Dumebi’, and from there, she became well-known in fashion and lifestyle circles. She’s also the founder of ‘The Shine Cartel’, a beauty brand offering products like Glaze lip gloss and Slipe lip liner.
Her 2026 trip to Kenya is personally meaningful. After visiting Nairobi in summer 2022 (which she documented in a popular vlog on YouTube), she recently reflected on how much has changed. “It’s so surreal because I was in Kenya in summer 2022 and I had dreams that are coming to life in 2026,” she said.

The Kenya Airways Complaint
Kenya Airways, also known as KQ and Kenya’s national carrier, has faced ongoing criticism over service quality and financial issues. Complaints about premium cabin experiences are common for the airline, which operates in a competitive international market.
Eneje’s post prompted others to share their own experiences.

One user was blunt: “So boring, I can never book Kenya Airways business class.”

Another responded with the obvious: “You can now imagine the economy.”

A third shared a humorous remark: “Anyone who flies KQ internationally, you are a strong soldier of the Lord; your flight will not leave on time, or your luggage shall never arrive.”

Not everyone was unsympathetic. One user provided context: “What do you expect on a narrow-body aircraft? These are the standard 737 business-class seats. Plus, what do you expect when choosing Kenya Airways’ cheapest international business class flights?”
That’s a fair point; the experience on a narrow-body aircraft differs from that on wide-body jets, but paying for business class usually comes with expectations.

The Real Reason She is in Nairobi

Despite the flight issues, the trip symbolises a major growth moment. It represents everything Eneje has been working on since her first visit to Nairobi.
The Shine Cartel is hosting its first international pop-up today, July 1, 2026, at The Social House Nairobi from 1pm to 4pm. The event offers Kenyan fans of the brand, officially known as “Kenya Shine Babes”, the chance to shop and experience The Shine Cartel live for the first time.
It’s a milestone transforming a vision into a business. Dreams from 2022 are becoming a real international expansion in 2026, even if the journey was not exactly what the ticket promised.
