Popular Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan popularly known as Ogogo has allegedly died.
The sad news was made known by his daughter, Kira, who could not control herself during a live session
His daughter, who had been talking about his ailment, was seen in a video wailing, and saying her daddy is dead. 
In a social media post sighted by NBG Africa, Ogogo’s daughter, Kira who was out of the country was seen weeping profusely.
In the emotional video, Kira was heard saying: “Help me call my sister. My daddy is dead. I can’t believe it, my dad is dead. Mummy, please help me buy my ticket. I want to go home.”
The development has sparked emotional reactions among fans and colleagues of the prolific actor.
However, an official statement from the actor’s family or representatives is still being awaited to formally confirm the report.

Ogogo to be buried in his hometown Ilaro
The Ilaro Muslim Community has announced the burial of its beloved brother, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
According to the announcement, the burial prayer will take place at 11am on August 24, at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground, Ilaro.
The announcement was made by the Chief Imam of Ilaro.
Jide Kosoko announces Ogogo’s death
Veteran Nollywood actor, Prince Jide Kosoko, officially announced the death of Ogogo in an emotional post.
“With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of ALHAJI TAIWO HASSAN, popularly known as OGOGO, who passed away at 3:00 p.m. today Sunday, 23rd August 2026. At 66 years.”
He also informed his fans of the late actor’s burial plans.
“His remains will be taken to his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State today where special prayers will take place at the pavilion Ilaro on Monday, August 24, 2026, by 11:00 a.m, at the Pavillon, Ilaro, Ogun State”
Kosoko also offered prayers for the repose of Ogogo’s soul and also offered his condolences to the family left behind.
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants him eternal rest and gives his family, friends, colleagues and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this great loss. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Ameen.”
