The death and burial of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has taken an emotional turn as revealed by his sister.
The woman who identified herself his sister made disturbing claims about deaths in the actor’s family. She alleged that several young members of the family had died untimely over the years. The woman also claimed that she previously warned Ogogo about what she described as a spiritual problem that kills them in the family.
However, her claims remain allegations and have not been independently verified. 
Ogogo’s Sister Recalls Her Final Conversation With Him
Speaking during Ogogo’s burial, the woman recalled her final conversation with the late actor. She said she had discussed her concerns about deaths within his family with him. According to her, she wanted Christian clerics from her church to come and pray at Ogogo’s father’s compound.
“I told Ogogo that I wanted to bring pastors from my church, Christ Apostolic Church, Agbala Itura, to pray in his father’s compound,” she said.
She claimed the compound had is filled with several burial grounds involving young family members.
‘Many Young People Have Been Buried There’
The woman said the number of deaths in the family had worried her for years. She claimed some relatives died as young as babies, some children, youth, while others died much later.
“I told him, ‘Don’t you know the number of young people who have died in the family?’” she recalled.
She also alleged that one of Ogogo’s elder sisters died at the age of 62. She claimed the sister lived close to her at Araromi, Ijoko.
According to her, many mothers in the family had lost their children.
Her Own Child Was Among Those Lost in The Compound
The woman became emotional while discussing her personal experience. She claimed she also lost a child she had while living in the family compound. She also said all the children her mother had for Ogogo’s father also died and were buried in the same compound.
“All the children my mother had for his dad in that house died. Even the child I gave birth to also died in his father’s house,” she alleged.
Her claim added another deeply personal dimension to her concerns about the family.

She Clamoured For Ogogo to Get Family’s Traditional Title
The woman said she had urged Ogogo to take certain steps concerning his family. She claimed she encouraged him to embrace his family’s chieftaincy title. She also said she planned to contact Oba Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro.
“I told him his father’s compound must not perish,” she said.
She added that she wanted traditional and religious leaders to examine the situation.
‘There Is Something Spiritual About the Compound’ – Ogogo’s Sister Claims
The woman alleged that Ogogo’s ancestral home had experienced too many deaths. She described the compound as “Agbole Akinikun Nigaakan”. According to her, the number of young people, children buried there raised concerns.
“I insisted that there is something spiritual about his father’s compound,” she alleged.
She linked the deaths to what she described as a generational curse and ‘akufa’.
She Described Ogogo’s Death as ‘Akufa’
The mourner also used the Yoruba expression “akufa” while discussing Ogogo’s death. She described it as a death that supposedly attracts further deaths. She claimed Ogogo’s death was connected to the pattern she believed existed within his family.
However, there is no verified evidence establishing such a connection. Medical and official accounts should guide any conclusions about the actor’s death.

‘That Was the Last Time I Spoke With Him’ – Ogogo’s Sister
The woman said she did not know their final conversation would become her last with Ogogo. She recalled that they discussed her concerns about the death trends in the family and even cracked jokes.
“Unfortunately, that was the last time I spoke with him,” she said.
Her words reflected the grief surrounding the actor’s death.
Ogogo’s Death Leaves Family and Fans Mourning
Ogogo died after battling stage-four cancer, according to earlier disclosures from his daughters. His family had previously appealed for prayers and appropriate medical care. His death has since triggered tributes across Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

Ogogo’s Sister’s Claims About a ‘Generational Curse’ Remain Unverified
The woman’s allegations have generated attention because of their emotional nature. However, claims of a generational curse remain unproven. They should not replace medical explanations or verified information about Ogogo’s illness.
For his grieving family, the focus now remains on mourning and honouring his legacy. The actor’s final journey has brought painful memories to the surface.
Yet, his work and influence will likely remain his most enduring legacy.
