In recent years, Nigeria is steadily producing elite female boxers, especially in divisions where African female fighters were once under-represented. 

The women who began training in silence, with little support, have continued to fight their way to the spotlight with grit and resilience.

These women have now gained recognition from major global boxing bodies, earning top spots in the World Boxing Council, World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation , and World Boxing Federation rankings

Based on these latest international rankings, here are the current highest globally ranked Nigerian female boxers in no particular order:

1. Elizabeth Oshoba

Elizabeth Oshoba is currently regarded as her country’s brightest international female boxing prospect

She is ranked among the world’s top featherweight contenders and recently placed at No. 8 in the World Boxing Council (WBC) and No. 9 in the World Boxing Federation women’s featherweight rankings.

She has earned a reputation for her knockout power. Elizabeth has had 10 fights and never lost any. In November 2023, she won the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) female super-featherweight title after defeating Martina Righi by decision. On April 5, 2026, the Nigerian boxer defeated Chelsey Arnell via third-round technical knockout at Olympia in London.

2. Celina Agwu

Celina Agwu is ranked No. 2 in the WBA light heavyweight rankings, No. 5 in the WBC Heavyweight and No. 8 in the WBF Heavyweight division.

​The 20-year-old primarily competes in super middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight categories. 

Her debut fight was in 2023, after which she has had eight fights and one loss.

3. Bolatito Oluwole

Bolatito Oluwole, popularly known as ‘Black Tito,’ is ranked No. 4 by the WBA light heavyweight, No. 9 by the WBC in the heavyweight division and No. 4 according to the IBF as she continues her rise in international women’s boxing. Her debut fight was in 2021, and she has had 11 fights in total with two losses.

The 24-year-old who was born in Nigeria with tactical skills and a durable chin has cemented her status in the elite tier of international light-heavyweight and heavyweight boxing.

4. Millicent Agboegbulem

Millicent Agboegbulem, also known as ‘Milli’, is ranked No. 10 in the WBA super welterweight rankings. The 42-year-old is known for representing Australia and her Nigerian roots on the global stage.

She won a bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the middleweight category. In July 2023, Blessing Agboegbulem defended her title as the Australian Super Welterweight Champion against previously unbeaten Tayla Harris at Australia’s first televised all-female boxing event.  She won by majority decision and earned praise for her fitness and powerful right hand.

She has had five fights and no defeats.

​5. Toyin Adejumola

​Adejumola ranks No. 10 in the WBC middleweight division. ​She broke into the global top 10 on the strength of a remarkable unbeaten run.

The 28-year-old had her first fight in 2022 and was crowned World Boxing Bureau (WBB) Africa Women’s Light Heavyweight Champion in 2025.  Her strategic movement and power in the middleweight division make her a dangerous rising contender.
