A lady’s emotional confession has prompted discussion after her message was read during a recent episode of the popular podcast I Said What I Said (ISWIS). In the message, she shared how she lost her sister earlier this year and later developed feelings for her late sister’s husband, leaving her torn between love, family responsibility, and uncertainty about the future.

The story set off a conversation among the podcast’s hosts and guests, who weighed in on the emotional and moral complexities of her situation. As she struggles to navigate her feelings while helping to care for her late sister’s children, the lady asks for advice on what to do next.

The woman explained that she had lived with her sister since her teenage years. Her sister and brother-in-law raised her, sponsored her education through university, and supported her throughout her life. She described her sister as one of the family’s breadwinners and said her husband, a wealthy businessman, had opened a large store for her in Abuja. The lady mentioned that her sister had always been successful and fortunate in life.

She also described her late sister’s marriage as a happy one. According to her, her brother-in-law loved his wife deeply and remained faithful throughout their 11-year marriage.

After the funeral and burial, family members returned to their homes, leaving her to help care for the children. Although her elderly mother moved into the house, she said the responsibility remained difficult.

Three weeks after her sister’s death, her brother-in-law kissed her. Although they did not have sex, they shared several romantic moments and gradually developed feelings for each other. She said they had grown close and that he often showed signs of jealousy whenever she spoke to other men or went on dates.

The woman admitted that she had fallen in love with him. She described him as a good man and a devoted father. However, she said she had started to worry because other women had begun showing interest in him, and he appeared willing to entertain some of their advances.

She believes she can care for the children better than anyone else because she already has a strong bond with them. She also feels that her late sister would have preferred her to remain with the family rather than see another woman take her place.

Despite their closeness, she remains uncertain about her future. She said her brother-in-law shares personal matters with her, listens to her concerns, and even asks what she wants for her birthday, but she does not feel secure about it.

She fears spending her twenties helping to raise his children and filling the gap left by her sister’s death, only for him to eventually marry someone else.

The woman’s story drew strong reactions from the podcast hosts and guests. While discussing her situation, some of them jokingly described her as “possessed” because she had already convinced herself that she was in love with her late sister’s husband and appeared determined to take her sister’s place in the family.

One of the guests warned that her actions could lead to serious problems in the future, saying, “What you are doing can only end in a problem.”

Although the discussion included light-hearted jokes, the hosts and guests generally advised her to think carefully about the situation and consider the possible consequences before pursuing a relationship with her late sister’s husband.
