I’ve been deeply disturbed since seeing Evangelist Yinka Yusuf’s announcement today.
For over a month, his billboards have been across Uyo and Akwa Ibom State promoting the One Million Man Crusade for Jesus. Anyone who understands event planning knows that before something of that scale is advertised, approvals for venue, security, dates, and logistics must have already been secured. This is not something you just wake up and print billboards for.
Now suddenly, CAN and PFN are asking him to shift the programme by one week, not because of safety concerns, not because of clashes in venue, date, or time, but because another minister, David Edward Owuor is coming in from Kenya. That alone is troubling.

To make matters worse, Ibom Hall has reportedly called to begin refunds. This is devastating. Flights have been booked. Hotels paid for. Logistics set. Over ₦40 million already spent, now being wasted because of a last-minute request that never needed to happen.
What hurts even more is that this man deliberately chose Uyo, even though hosting this crusade in other Nigerian cities would likely have cost far less. He chose Uyo out of love and burden for the state and not for fame, not for territory, not for profit.
And yet, he never asked CAN or PFN for financial support, equipment, platforms, or resources. He only asked for space to preach Christ. Nothing more.
This man does not have a church in Uyo. He is not planting one. He is not competing with anyone. He is coming solely to win souls for Christ and hand them over to existing churches, yet he is being treated like a threat instead of a brother.
And then we wonder why people lose faith in Christianity. We judge ex-Christians but refuse to confront the internal systems that frustrate sincere kingdom work. Christianity should not feel like a cartel or a business structure. It should feel like family.
The painful irony? Evangelist Yinka Yusuf is a former Muslim who converted to Christianity, and now it is fellow Christians frustrating his assignment.
If two crusades are happening at different venues, different times, and different dates, why not let both win souls for God? Unless, of course, the goal is no longer souls… but territory, influence, or money.
CAN and PFN have not said anything yet on this matter.
