There is quite no money like church money, especially among African pastors who have tonnes of worshippers seeking financial favours from God.
Their own financial fortune, however, does not come solely from tithes and offerings but from numerous business ventures. While some have been accused of financial crimes, all their wealth might as well be the favour of the Lord.
1. Alph Lukau (South Africa)

Pastor Alph Lukau, founder and general overseer of Alleluia Ministries International in South Africa, is known for his estimated net worth of around $1 billion, making him one of the wealthiest pastors globally.
His wealth stems from income generated through his ministry, real estate investments, and ventures in finance, technology, and manufacturing.
2. David Oyedepo (Nigeria)

Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners’ Chapel), ranks as Nigeria’s richest preacher, boasting a net worth in the hundreds of millions, estimated at $150 million according to a 2011 Forbes article.
Oyedepo never agreed to Forbes evaluation, “Some fellow said we are worth $150 million, I said that’s an insult. $150 million? That’s an insult. I’m worth Philippians 4:19”
His wealth is from an extensive church network featuring a publishing house, two universities (Covenant University and Landmark University), and a real estate portfolio.
Oyedepo owns four private jets, a Gulfstream V jet worth at least $30 million, two other Gulfstream planes and a Bombardier Challenger aircraft. He also has properties in the United Kingdom and the United States.
A pandora document unsealed also reveals that he owns an offshore account in tax haven where his family members are shareholders.
3. Pastor Enoch Adeboye (Nigeria)

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is a popular religious figure in Nigeria with a net worth of approximately $110 million as of 2025, according to multiple news sources.
His net worth is supported by offerings, Christian publications, real estate under RCCG, education, media, social enterprises, and speaking engagements all over the world.
4. Shepherd Bushiri (Malawi/South Africa)

Shepherd Bushiri, known as “Major 1”, is a Malawian preacher and businessman with an estimated wealth exceeding $110 million, derived from diverse enterprises including an airline and telecommunications.
Bushiri owns numerous luxury properties and cars, including a Maserati, a Rolls-Royce, and an Aston Martin, and he even got his wife a R30 Mercedes-Benz.
His company, Shepherd Bushiri Investments, faces allegations of fraud and money laundering, resulting in the seizure of assets by South African authorities.
5. Uebert Angel (Zimbabwe/UK)

Uebert Angel, a Zimbabwean prosperity preacher based in the UK and founder of Spirit Embassy, has amassed a fortune estimated at $60 million, according to a 2014 Forbes estimate.
He is currently believed to be worth $150 million. His wealth comes from his church and multiple business ventures. Angel’s real estate portfolio is extensive, including Great Hampton Limited, located near Birmingham University.
He owns numerous businesses spanning different industries and has also been accused for fraud, a warrant was even issued for his arrest which was cancelled by the Zimbabwean magistrate court.

6. Chris Oyakhilome (Nigeria)

The founder of LoveWorld Incorporated (Christ Embassy) is reported to have a net worth between $30 million and $50 million, according to Forbes.
His wealth stems from a vast global ministry that includes satellite TV networks, music production, and various business interests.
He was once implicated in a $35 million money laundering case, which was later dismissed.
7. Matthew Ashimolowo (Nigeria/United Kingdom)

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, based in London, is the founder of the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), regarded as one of the largest Pentecostal churches in the United Kingdom.
Initially sent by the Foursquare Gospel Church in 1992 to open a satellite branch in London, Ashimolowo established KICC instead.
He was reportedly posting nearly $10 million in profits and possessing assets valued at $40 million in 2009, according to Forbes. Though he gets paid a salary, it was reported that substantial income derives from his media enterprise and real estate.
