Yemi Solade, a Nollywood veteran, shared the reasons he stopped taking part in church services 13 years ago.

He made it known that although he has not attended church over these years, he believes in God and that God lives in him.

In a recent interview on Curiosity Made Me Ask hosted by Isbaeu, the actor said confining worship to a single day limits his relationship with God.

Solade argued that the Bible does not say that Christians must worship God only on a specific day, such as Sunday or Saturday.

“God created me in His image. I stopped going to church 13 years ago because I was not finding it funny any longer. Though I am a child of God,” he said.

“My life is not orchestrated towards a particular day. There is no Sunday in the Bible. Without God, I will not be alive.”

Solade made it known that, without formal church attendance, he believes in God. He also made it known that those who are close to him know that he worships God and that God lives in him.

“I know God too well. If you get close to me, you will know that God lives in me,” he said.

He Explains Why He Keeps His Distance From People

The actor also spoke about his approach to relationships, mentioning that he doesn’t have friends. He also claimed not to have close relationships with people because God instructed him to do that for himself.

He describes himself as someone who keeps a distance from over-familiarity while engaging with the world.

“I do not have a friend. I do not roll with anybody, but I move with the world because God has instructed me to do that for myself,” he said.

“I am loved by a lot of people, and I love a lot of people. But I do not have intimacy with people. It is good for me.”
