African superstars Wizkid, Ayra Starr, and Moliy have once again dominated the global stage, winning the Best African Music Act, Best International Act, and World Artist of the Year awards respectively.

The 2026 MOBO Awards, the first to be held in Manchester, celebrated Black music and culture, honouring several international stars throughout the night.
Ayra Starr claimed the Best International Act prize, winning ahead of global stars such as Cardi B, Tyla, Gunna, and Kehlani.
In the media categories, Niko Omilana emerged as the winner of Best Media Personality, beating nominees including Bemi Orojuogun (popularly known as Bus Aunty) and DJ Remi Burgz.
This year’s ceremony also highlighted British actors of Nigerian descent; Wunmi Mosaku, Damson Idris, Dayo Koleosho, and Cynthia Erivo were all nominated for Best Performance in a TV Show or Film.

For Wizkid, this win marks his 7th MOBO Award overall, solidifying his position as the most awarded African artist in MOBO history.
