One thing Africans like to do is spar about who has the best jollof rice, and we have the answer now.
The origin of jollof rice can be traced back to the 15th-century Senegambian Wolof people, but these days every African country lays claim to this special dish and has their own recipe.
Which Country Makes The Best Jollof Rice?
While Africans are too tied to their country to make an objective statement on who makes the best jollof, it makes sense that an innocent observer could be the perfect person to make the judgement.
When the American streamer IShowSpeed was on his tour of Africa, each African country presented their jollof rice to him, asking him the singular question, “Which jollof rice is the best?”

He enjoyed them all, but when he got to Nigeria, he removed his glasses and exclaimed in delight, ‘This is the best!’ ’. Okay, he didn’t exactly do that, but you get my drift. He said it was the best, and as he continued his tour, they kept asking him and he kept insisting Nigeria has the best jollof rice.
Even though the Ghanaians tried to sway him with 10 beautiful maidens giving him a massage, he still said it was Nigerian jollof he loved, but after much persuasion, he said it was a tie.

The restaurant’s Instagram bio now says, “We made the Nigerian jollof IShowSpeed keeps talking about.” They even named the jollof rice ‘IShowSpeed jollof’.
