“I Played My Game Well”: Mercedes Speaks on BBNaija Exit, Kamson Drama and Housemates

Mercedes may have left the BBNaija house early, but she certainly didn’t leave quietly.

As one of the first two housemates evicted from Big Brother Naija Season 11, Mercedes reflects on her brief but memorable stay.

The self-styled Queen of Seduction spoke candidly with NBG Africa about her experience in the house.

Energetic and direct, she said she had no regrets about her time on the reality show.

‘I Played My Game Well’

Mercedes said she remained true to herself from the moment she entered the house.

“There wasn’t a hard part about being in the house because I played my game well. I showed myself well.”

The former City Choir member described herself as both an early bird and a night owl.

As an aerial seduction artist, she said she dances at clubs around 2 a.m. and still attends the Catholic Mass by morning.

Mercedes said she entered the house without a strategy because her personality already provides enough entertainment.

She also revealed that she would relive every moment she spent eating if given another chance.

Despite her eviction, she said she misses hearing Big Brother call her name.

Mercedes Clears the Air on Kamson Drama

Ijeoma ‘Mercedes’ Emi, a 26-year-old massage therapist, aerial seduction artist and concierge service CEO.

Mercedes also used the interview to address the controversy surrounding her interaction with Kamson.

“I’d like to clear the air about me and Kamson. I’ve heard and read a lot on social media.”

She explained that the incident began during an argument involving Neche, Ricky and Nomy.

Later, Abi reportedly emerged from the restroom and complained about a used sanitary pad. Mercedes questioned why anyone would leave a used pad in the bathroom.

She said the housemates knew Kamson was menstruating at the time. However, Mercedes noted that another female housemate could also have left it there.

Kamson reportedly checked the pad and recognised the brand she used. Mercedes then asked her, “as a sister,” whether she had left it there.

Kamson denied leaving it but offered to remove it to avoid suspicion. Mercedes said she stopped her because she believed Kamson should not take responsibility for something she did not do.

“If you are not the one that left the pad in the bathroom, do not take it out.”

She explained that the viral footage began when she stopped Kamson from removing the pad.

“I lifted her out of the bathroom, kept her aside and jammed the door.”

Mercedes said Kamson later pulled her aside and insisted she had not left the pad. She then removed and disposed of it herself.

“That’s all that happened there. I did not do anything harmful or hurtful to her.”

Alliances, Yusuf, Rukky and the Head of House

Mercedes dismissed speculation that she belonged to a formal alliance inside the house. She said her friendly personality made viewers assume she was part of one.

“They thought there was an alliance because I’m a very accommodating person.”

She described the group involving Flora, Bells and herself as “the ship.” She jokingly described Oyin as the water around the ship.

Mercedes also discussed Yusuf’s relationship with Bells.

She initially believed Yusuf genuinely liked Bells but became more doubtful after leaving the house.

“He is an actor, and I think he might be moving with Bells to gather sympathy.”

She also praised Rukky’s strategy of approaching women who might reject him. According to her, such moves could generate sympathy and strengthen his game.

Mercedes preferred Chimsom Chumka as Head of House during her stay. She praised him for making decisions without allowing other housemates to influence him.

She also described him as opinionated and deeply involved in house gossip.

Mercedes on Love, Fame and Life Outside the BBNaija House

Mercedes said her straightforward personality also influences her relationships outside the show.

She described herself as spontaneous and said she prefers making the first move. She also said she does not dwell on the past.

When choosing a partner, Mercedes wants someone calm because she considers herself naturally loud.

She also admitted that she prefers fame to privacy.

For Mercedes, her short BBNaija journey may have ended early. However, she believes she remained authentic throughout her time in the house.
