Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has launched a celebrity-led political support group called ‘Relax! Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN)’. This launch and the announcement of RTIFN coordinators are part of early groundwork ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group’s formal inauguration in Abuja saw the appointment of state coordinators across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, a move its backers say is meant to bridge the gap between the government and citizens by countering misinformation and promoting the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
At the ceremony, National Coordinator Hon. Ahmed Bala said the appointees form “the backbone of our operational network,” tasked with fostering communication and collaboration in their states. Matron Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu described the mission as motivating Nigerians to “relax” and trust in ongoing reforms, including the removal of subsidies and tax changes.
Among the celebrities named as coordinators are Nollywood actors Bolanle Ninalowo and Yul Edochie, veteran actor Zack Orji, entertainer Seyi Law, and actor Adeniyi Johnson. Several appointees have taken to social media to celebrate their roles. Yul Edochie warmly welcomed Ninalowo’s appointment, writing “Welcome on board, brother,” on Instagram.
Nigerians React to the RTIFN Coordinators Announcement
Nigerians have reacted strongly to the news. Some supporters say the group can help educate citizens about governance and mobilize young voters for next year’s polls. Others have accused celebrity coordinators of being “tone-deaf” or disconnected from everyday realities. This was especially the case for RTIFN coordinators whose family members live abroad, such as Bolanle Ninalowo.
Comments ranged from mockery of the group’s name to criticism of public figures for endorsing a sitting president’s agenda.
As political mobilisation begins in earnest, RTIFN’s launch highlights how politicians are leveraging entertainment influence. Leading up to the elections, we can expect more of these collaborations.
