Mavin Records has distanced itself from Lotanna Harry after his name became linked to the label as an agent or representative.
In a public notice, Mavin said Harry had never worked for the company in an authorised capacity. The record label had stated:
“Lotanna Harry whose photo is hereby publicized alongside this notice has never at any time been appointed, engaged, authorized or mandated by the company to act as its agent, representative, intermediary or authorized person in any capacity whatsoever.” 
The label said his only connection to Mavin was as a paid video model. According to the company, Harry worked on a subcontract basis for appearances in some of its videos.
Mavin also warned the public against relying on Harry for any business involving the label. It said such dealings would not create any obligation for the company. It added that it could take legal action over any unauthorised use of its name or business relationships.
Harry’s Response
Harry has described the situation as a misunderstanding.
In his response, he said he runs the Record Label Access Network (RLAN), an independent platform for artists, record labels and music professionals.
He explained that Mavin appears on the platform alongside other Nigerian record labels. According to him, the listing promotes label opportunities and does not mean he works for Mavin.
RLAN later issued its own clarification. The platform said it operates independently and does not represent Mavin or its management. It also acknowledged that the way Mavin appeared on the platform may have caused confusion.
For now, both sides have clarified their positions. Mavin has directed people seeking to work with the label to use its official channels.
