Nigerian singer Charles Chibueze Chukwu, popularly known as Crayon, set social media buzzing after an emotional late-night crashout in which he made several bold claims about his career and time with his former label, Mavins Records.
In a series of tweets, the singer appeared visibly distressed as he spoke about feeling overlooked and unsupported. He also made serious allegations, including claims that he had not received money from a reported industry payout and suggested that certain actions by the record label may have contributed to personal tragedies in his life.
By morning, however, the posts had all been deleted, leaving only screenshots circulating online.
Fan Claims Crayon Wrote Some of Rema’s Hit Songs
Amid the growing discussion, one social media user added fuel to the fire by alleging that Crayon had written several hit songs, including “Dumebi”, “Beamer” and “Yayo”, but that the songs were ultimately given to Rema because he was the more commercially successful artist at the time.
“Crayon was the talented one on the label. Dumebi, Beamer, Yayo – he wrote them all, and they gave them to Rema because he was the one popping. I knew all that parading as Rema’s best friend was just for media attention. Why sign an artist when you don’t believe in them? I hope you find your star again, Crayon,” he wrote.
The claim quickly gained engagement online, and it was just as quickly challenged. Other users responded with screenshots proving that the songs had already been publicly credited to the original writer, Rema.

The back-and-forth has since turned the situation into a full-blown debate among fans, with some defending Crayon while others question the accuracy of the circulating claims.
“Not everyone gets credited for their stuff. ‘Dips wasn’t even credited on Burna’s “Higher”,’ a Crayon fan said.
Rema’s fan responded saying,“You don’t even need to go this far; just listen to Crayon’s music, and then you’ll know he can’t breathe behind ANY of Rema’s songs.”
Neither Crayon nor his label, Mavin Records, has issued an official statement addressing the deleted posts or the allegations currently making the rounds online.
For now, the screenshots continue to circulate, leaving fans speculating about what may have led to the singer’s emotional moment online.
