American actress Carla Jeffery, best known for playing Bree in Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise, has died at 33.
Jeffery died on September 1, 2026, according to her longtime talent agency, Alexanders Talent Management. The agency announced her death on Instagram on September 2.
The agency said Jeffery had been part of its family for more than 20 years. It also asked the public to respect her family’s privacy as they mourn her death. 
Her cause of death has not been disclosed.
Carla Jeffery Began Acting as a Child
Jeffery was born on July 10, 1993, in Houston, Texas. She began acting as a child and landed her first film role at 12. Her debut came in the 2006 comedy Phat Girlz, which starred Mo’Nique.
Jeffery later built a television career with appearances in several popular shows. Her credits included iCarly, Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Southland, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and American Vandal.
Her Role in Disney’s ‘Zombies’
Jeffery’s biggest role came in 2018 when she joined Disney Channel’s Zombies.
She played Bree, a cheerleader at Seabrook High School and the best friend of Addison, played by Meg Donnelly. Jeffery returned as Bree in Zombies 2 and Zombies 3. She also voiced the character in Zombies: The Re-Animated Series.
The franchise became one of her best-known credits. It also introduced her work to a large young audience through Disney Channel’s films and animated projects.
Jeffery later appeared in Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires. The Disney production premiered in Los Angeles in July 2025.
Jeffery Also Spoke About Epilepsy
Away from acting, Jeffery had spoken publicly about living with epilepsy.
In a 2022 interview with the Epilepsy Foundation, she said she began experiencing seizures at 18. Jeffery also used her platform to discuss the condition and her experience working in the entertainment industry while living with epilepsy.

Tributes Follow Her Death
News of Jeffery’s death has prompted tributes from former Zombies cast members and colleagues.
Chandler Kinney, who starred alongside Jeffery in the franchise, was among those who paid tribute to the actress. Other members of the Disney cast and entertainment community have also remembered Jeffery following the announcement.
Carla Jeffery’s Family
Jeffery is survived by her family, including her twin brother, actor Carlon Jeffery. He has also worked in television and is known for his role as Cameron Parks in A.N.T. Farm.
Jeffery’s management agency has not provided further details about her death.
