Nollywood actor and filmmaker Kunle Afod has spoken publicly about his separation from his wife, Desola Afod, popularly known as Celeb Wife. The actor addressed the breakdown of their marriage during an interview with Kasnasty Sugar.
He pointed to the demands of his acting career, lack of time at home, jealousy and allegations of infidelity on both sides.
Reports about the couple’s separation emerged in February 2026 after Desola reportedly moved her belongings out of their matrimonial home. Neither party had publicly addressed the development until Afod’s recent interview. 
Kunle Afod Says His Career Took Time Away From Family
When the interviewer asked what caused the separation, Afod initially highlighted the demands of his career.
“This job is heavy to the extent that we sometimes don’t have time for our home,” he said concerning actors.
He also explained how deeply he prioritises his work, even when it affects his relationship with his children. According to the actor, he sometimes goes as long as six months without calling his children because of his professional commitments.
“Nobody can block my progress in this job. I was born for this, and I will die for it,” he said.
Afod added that people who pursue creative careers can become so devoted to their craft that their partners feel neglected. He suggested that maintaining a relationship can become difficult when work takes priority over family life.
He Speaks About Jealousy and Cheating Allegations
Afod also discussed jealousy and allegations of infidelity when the interviewer pressed him about the separation. He began by apologising to women before sharing his views on relationships and cheating.
“Women believe that men cheat, but no man can cheat with a tree or wood. Men cheat with women,” he said.
The actor then questioned why some women become uncomfortable when their husbands suspect them of being too close to female friends. Afod argued that emotional and sexual boundaries should apply equally to both partners. he noted that it is easier for women to cheat with a fellow woman than for a man to cheat with either gender.

The actor also raised the subject of women using sex toys, particularly dildos. He questioned why a married woman would need several sex toys while expecting her husband to remain comfortable with the practice.
“It’s easy for a woman to convince her husband to buy her dildo; she will tell you that she doesn’t want to cheat on you. She would buy up to three dildos,” he said.
He further argued that a woman who uses sex toys should not condemn her husband for doing the same.
“Why is she not satisfied with just one dildo? That can also be referred to as adultery,” he added.
Afod did not explicitly identify Desola as the person he was describing or directly accuse her of using multiple sex toys. His remarks came while discussing the wider issues he believes can create suspicion between couples.
