Ogechi Ukonu, better known as Caramel Plugg, has been accused of withholding Chidinma’s passport after several months of delay. Alongside the glamour, Caramel Plugg’s journey has been marked by recurring controversies that continue to divide public opinion. Now, Caramel Plugg seems to be at the centre of another chaos.
According to Caramel, what started as boredom-driven content creation in the late 2010s quickly turned into a full-fledged career.

Her breakthrough came in 2019-2020 when a humourous rant video criticising the hype around Game of Thrones went viral. The video was a viral introduction of her witty personality to us. Her move into travel-related services seemed like a natural extension of her travel lifestyle.
Mbamalu Esther Chidinma has come forward claiming that after paying for visa processing services through Caramel Plugg’s travel agency, her passport was withheld. According to the accuser, Caramel has refused to release the document unless she signs a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
“That girl took money from me since June/July, held my passport ransom and said I should sign an NDA before she releases it…The embassy wasn’t working but Caramel was taking money from people. The embassy was on break but Ogechi Ukonu was taking money from people, swindling people up and down,” she said in a circulated audio.

“She left me there at the embassy stranded, I stood there and they were all telling me I was a fool I chose not to believe it,” Chidinma added.
Chidinma explained that after doing her capturing and paying a sum of five million naira, Caramel couldn’t get her visa signed. “Why am I paying for work done that is not done?” She noted that the case wasn’t that the visa was declined but that the process never started. Chidinma noted that with this going on, she still claims to be giving visas a S saying something contrary to clients online.
In another audio, she threatened to leak Caramel’s nudes. Chidinma also claimed to have reported her to Pastor Bolaji, Lead Pastor of Harvester’s Church, where according to her, she reportedly serves as Sunday School teacher.
She also added that she knows three other people in the same boat as her. “You took our money to Singapore. You are using our money to buy fake Birkin, thief. The thing is if I’m about to destroy you, I’ll do it in front of you, you’ll know it’s coming from me.”
The claims have spread rapidly across social media platforms, with screenshots, videos, and call-outs amplifying the story. As the third of such public complaint against Ukonu and her agency regarding visa and travel service issues. This recurrence has made people question the practices of influencer-run travel businesses and the accountability that comes with handling clients’ sensitive documents and money.
Why Caramel Plugg Withheld a Woman’s Passport Until She Signs an NDA

In her statement addressing the allegations, Ogechi Ukonu (Caramel Plugg) firmly rejected the accusations of passport withholding and scamming leveled against her by Mbamalu Esther Chidinma (born 24 June 1994).
She cautioned against publicly dragging or tarnishing someone’s reputation with unsubstantiated claims, describing such moves as unsustainable “propaganda” that could backfire. Caramel declared her intention to pursue the matter in court and urged the accuser to engage a strong lawyer.
In defense of her travel agency, LGE (LetsGo Exp), she stressed that client integrity remains their highest priority. She highlighted that all documents are meticulously processed, stored, and fully verifiable, while client communications are securely recorded. Ukonu thanked both current and potential clients for their trust and pledged continued excellent service.
She has returned to vacation mode, obviously unbothered.
