One of the alumni of the popular Big Brother Naija, Angel Smith, has reportedly tied the knot.
She was a contestant during the Season 6 “Shine Your Eye” edition and was one of the runners-up. She had a high-profile relationship with another housemate, Soma, which didn’t end very well; there were accusations of cheating and harassment from Soma’s ex-girlfriend.
Is Angel Smith a Lesbian?
In the middle of last year, rumours started circulating about her same-sex relationship with a woman called Tunmie, who lives in the United States. She affirmed the rumours in a Snapchat post saying: 
“I am not homophobic. I love the gays, and I love the gals… up rainbow abeg.“
She also said, “Nigerians discover that other people don’t share the same politics as them and then lose their minds; like wow, calling me a lesbian is not the gag you think it is, nor is it an insult. Bad news, my fine ass.”

Angel Smith’s Engagement and Possible Wedding
As 2025 rolled to an end, we noticed Angel shared a Snapchat post spotting a big engagement ring on her finger; she also said that she’s relocated out of Nigeria to New York.
After the engagement photos dropped, the rumour mill was spiralling, saying she’s getting married in January.
Now several Twitter (X) accounts are posting screen recordings of their marriage certificates, presumably from her partner’s Snapchat account.
Even though same-sex marriage is illegal and criminalised in Nigeria, it’s not so in the United States, so we say, “Congratulations to the latest couple in town!”
