Netflix reality star and social media influencer Angel Victoria Murdock is facing heavy criticism online after allegedly pretending to be a student in Duke University’s prestigious Physician Assistant (PA) programme for more than two years.
The influencer, who featured in six episodes of Netflix’s Temptation Island in 2025 as a “temptress”, built a large following by documenting what she claimed was her journey through the competitive Duke PA program.
The Duke University Physician Assistant program is the oldest in the United States and is consistently ranked among the top in the country. 
On social media, she posted videos of herself in scrubs and shared “get ready with me for rotations” content. She also displayed medical equipment and discussed clinical experiences passionately. With her consistent content online, Murdock landed brand deals and grew her audience.

How the Story Unravelled
According to members of Duke’s 2026 PA graduating class, scepticism first arose when a real student congratulated Murdock online for being in the program.
The student added that she had never seen or heard of Murdock in the program. Murdock reportedly blocked her within minutes.
Over the following months, other students in the program, which had 89 graduates, realized none of them had ever encountered Murdock. They had never come across her in class, on campus, or at any program events.
It escalated when Murdock posted “graduation” photos in front of Duke Chapel, complete with a cap and master’s hood.
Actual graduates of the program soon noticed that the colours of her graduation regalia seemed incorrect.
This led to further investigation, which revealed that:
• Murdock does not appear in the official Duke PA
Class of 2026 photo, neither was her name called during the two-hour hooding and graduation ceremony.
• She has no National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification number in North Carolina, where she allegedly claims to be certified.
• Duke University has also confirmed that there is “no record of a student by the name of Angel Murdock having applied to or attended the Duke Physician Assistant Program.”
The class historian, Kiera Brown, addressed the situation in a viral TikTok that drew millions of views.
She noted that some of Murdock’s posts about specific rotations such as psychiatry and OB-GYN appeared to look like her own actual updates.

Additional Claims by Under Scrutiny
According to the New York Post, Murdock also presented herself online as a licensed realtor in North Carolina and Georgia.
She posted property listings, house tours, and claims of earning thousands of dollars monthly, which have similarly been questioned.
In addition, she claimed to have a double major at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte but did not complete her degree there.
These allegations have been making the rounds on social media; however, Murdock is yet to issue a public statement in response to the claims, and her social media accounts is now private.
