Afolabi Brown, husband of media personality Morayo Brown, has questioned Pastor Jimmy Odukoya on his continued leadership at The Fountain of Life Church following his remarriage.
Speaking during a discussion on Brown’s Couch, Afolabi argued that Odukoya could remarry if he wished. However, he maintained that the pastor should consider stepping down from the pulpit because of the standards expected of church leaders.
Morayo had said that for Pastor Jimmy Odukoya to have taken a new wife, he must have heard from God, Afolabi replied that he must have heard from God too before leaving the first wife too.
Brown’s comments came as the programme discussed Odukoya’s new marriage and the debate surrounding divorce and remarriage among Christian leaders.
Afolabi Brown Questions Jimmy Odukoya on His Pastoral Role
While reacting to Morayo’s defence of Odukoya’s decision to remarry, Brown suggested that the conversation involved more than the pastor’s marital status. He hinted at what he described as a wider concern, saying:
“You don’t see what a lot of people do not see here is a pattern. Anyway, I won’t talk, I won’t talk. There is a bigger issue that the world has not seen.”
Although he did not fully explain the alleged pattern, Brown questioned whether Odukoya should continue serving as a senior pastor. His argument centred on the expectations placed on spiritual leaders and the example they set for their congregations.

He noted that the only reason the Bible allows couple to get divorce is because of adultery and as a Bible scholar that Jimmy is, many might assumed that his ex-wife was an adultress. He mentioned that Pastor Jimmy’s silence can be termed as unaccountability on his part.
He Criticises the Pastor’s Appearance
Brown also turned his attention to Odukoya’s physical appearance, mentioning his tattoos, body-hugging clothes, nose ring, earrings and muscular physique. He grouped these features under what he called “the flesh”, arguing that they raised questions about the pastor’s public image.
“You see, tattoo, body hug, nose ring, earrings for men, biceps, triceps, everything I have mentioned, they are in the same WhatsApp group. And it is a WhatsApp group called The Flesh. This is all about the flesh,” he said.
He also questioned the effort Odukoya allegedly puts into maintaining his physique.
“Why is Jimmy Odukoya trying to look very hot? I’m telling you, he has worked heavily,” Brown added.

Brown Raises Questions About Influence
Brown further pointed to Odukoya’s position as leader of a prominent church. He suggested that the influence and resources associated with the office made the pastor’s choices worthy of public scrutiny.
“Now imagine his position, senior pastor. And you know under that type of church, money is flowing,” he said.
His remarks have added another voice to the debate over Odukoya’s remarriage and expectations of Christian leadership. However, Brown’s comments reflect his personal views and do not establish that the pastor has breached any church rule or biblical requirement.
