A man identified as Abdul-Qadri, who says he is over 120 years old, has shared how he has lived with his four wives for over 90 years.
Abdul-Qadri and his four wives, Adisatu, Kursum, Hawau and Halimatu, recently shared their experience of marriage during a celebration of old couples in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The celebration focused on couples who have stayed together for many years. The couple were dressed in aso-oke and answered questions about their marriage, family and how they have managed to stay together for so many years. 
Abdul-Qadri Reveals How He Manages Four Wives
During the interview with Labiiafrica, Abdul-Qadri spoke about how he has managed to live with four wives for over 90 years.
He said he and his wives barely fight. According to him, whenever they have an argument, he resolves it himself.
Abdul-Qadri also said that none of their neighbours or family members interferes whenever they have a disagreement. He explained that they handle their differences themselves.
He Cannot Remember His Date of Birth
The interviewer also asked Abdul-Qadri about his age and how sure he was that he was over 120 years old.
Abdul-Qadri said he could not remember the exact day he was born. He explained that people did not record dates of birth during his time because they were not educated, so nobody documented his date of birth but he knows he is over 120 years.
But he claimed that he was married with a child and has witnessed the turbaning of four Emirs of Ilorin.

Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR who is the 11th Emir of Ilorin reigns between 1995 to date; Aliyu Dan AbdulKadir was the 10th Emir and he reigned between 1992 to 1995.
Zulukarnain bin Muhammad Laofe was the 9th Emir and he ruled between 1959 to 1992 while Abdul-Kadir bin Shuaib was the 8th Emir who reigned between 1919 to 1959.
Going by by Abdul-Qadri’s story, he was married and with a child before 1919.
Abdul-Qadri Worked as Hunter
When the interviewer asked Abdul-Qadri what he did when he was younger, he said he worked as a hunter, hunting for games.
He explained that he killed animals and sold the meat as his means of making a living.
The interviewer also asked his wives about the work they did when they were younger. They said they helped Abdul-Qadri sell the ‘bushmeat’ from hunting exploration.
They have all stopped doing the work now, and their children have taken over the family business.

How Abdul-Qadri Met His 4 Wives
Abdul-Qadri explained how he met his four wives. He said his father asked him to marry his first wife, Adisatu, and he did as he was told him.
For his second wife, Kursum, he said his mother asked him to marry her, and he also followed her advice.
Abdul-Qadri explained that he chose his fourth wife, Hawau, himself. He said that when he returned from Hajj, he wanted to marry her. At the time, Hawau already had a husband who wanted to leave her, and Abdul-Qadri eventually married her.
His Wives Speak About Their Children
Speaking about his children, Abdul-Qadri said he has 10 children.
His first wife, Adisatu, said she gave birth to three of the children who are still alive. She explained that she gave birth to more than three children, but only three of them are alive.
His second wife, Kursum, also said she gave birth to many children, but only three of them are still alive.
The Four Wives Cook Together
The interviewer also asked the wives how they manage cooking in the home.
The women said they cook together whenever they have a meal to prepare. They explained that they have never quarrelled over who should cook or who should not cook.

Abdul-Qadri Says He Is Still Ready to Marry Again
The women said they no longer go out to do stressful activities and that they mostly stay at home.
Abdul-Qadri, however, said he still goes out. He also said he remains ready to get married and have more children.
