The death of Nigerian-British businessman and influencer Igho ‘Tiny’ Ubiribo has raised concerns about cosmetic procedures.
Igho, also known as Denisi or Ego, died at 43 after undergoing a penis enlargement procedure in Thailand. Evidence presented at an inquest linked the treatment to a fatal pulmonary embolism.
The influencer had travelled to Bangkok with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, for a luxury holiday. However, the trip ended in tragedy after he developed severe complications following the procedure. 
His death has since highlighted the potentially serious risks associated with cosmetic treatments.
Igho ‘Tiny’ Ubiribo Undergoes Cosmetic Procedure in Bangkok
According to evidence presented at Inner West London Coroners’ Court, Igho visited a Thai clinic. Medical staff reportedly injected 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine into his penis.
The procedure took place during his stay in Bangkok in March. Afterwards, Igho and his wife reportedly went for a massage. However, he soon complained of chest pain. He then collapsed twice, prompting an emergency response.
An ambulance transported him to Sukhumvit Hospital for urgent medical attention. Doctors initially found him conscious and able to answer questions. His wife reportedly informed medical staff about the recent filler injections.
However, Igho later lost consciousness before doctors could perform a recommended CT scan.

Doctors Battle to Save Influencer
Doctors diagnosed Igho with a pulmonary embolism after his condition deteriorated. A pulmonary embolism occurs when a blood clot blocks an artery supplying the lungs.
Medical personnel moved him to intensive care following the diagnosis. They reportedly performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for more than 100 minutes. Despite their efforts, Igho died during the early hours of March 6.
His death prompted further investigations after his body returned to the United Kingdom. A UK postmortem examination later found cellular material inside his lungs. The material reportedly matched the hyaluronic acid used during the procedure.
Following the evidence, coroner Jean Harkin reached a conclusion about his death. She ruled that the cosmetic treatment caused the pulmonary embolism. The finding connected the procedure directly to the fatal medical complication.
Lavish Lifestyle and High-Profile Marriage
Before his death, Igho had built a significant following online. He reportedly had about 185,000 followers on Instagram.
The businessman also became known for displaying an extravagant lifestyle. Reports said he owned a $1.1 million property in Los Angeles. He also reportedly owned a $600,000 apartment in London.
Igho married fashion designer and socialite Danielle Simba Allen in 2022. The couple reportedly spent about $473,000 on their lavish Zimbabwe wedding. Their high-profile lifestyle continued to attract attention online.
However, Igho’s sudden death transformed the focus from luxury to loss.
His funeral later attracted notable Nigerian personalities. Among those reportedly present were music star Davido, socialite Cubana Chief Priest and Pastor Tobi Adegboyega.

Death Highlights Risks of Cosmetic Procedures
Igho’s case has also renewed conversations about cosmetic enhancement procedures.
Hyaluronic acid fillers have become increasingly popular for penis enlargement. The treatments can reportedly cost as much as $9,000. They typically last between six and nine months, depending on individual circumstances.
However, medical experts have warned about potentially serious complications. British urology specialists have previously raised concerns about risks associated with penile fillers. These complications can include infections, tissue damage and other serious medical problems.
Igho’s case involved an especially severe outcome. The inquest found that filler material had reached his lungs.
His death demonstrates that cosmetic procedures can carry significant medical risks. Ultimately, the tragedy has left his family and followers mourning his sudden loss.
His reported burial in London also reflected the extravagant life he lived. Reports claimed mourners gathered around a gold coffin costing more than $745,000.
Yet behind the luxury was a grieving family facing an unexpected tragedy.
