Portable walked into the Balmoral Hall at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday night as the reigning celebrity boxing champion—unbeaten, confident, and fully convinced he was about to collect a third belt.

He walked out with none of them.

Carter Efe outclassed the “Zazoo” crooner across three rounds at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event, winning by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 27–30 in favour of Efe: a clean sweep.

What Happened in the Ring?

Portable came out swinging in the opening round, throwing his trademark wild, erratic punches. Efe, the taller man, responded calmly with uppercuts and sharp body shots. While Portable continued to swing wide and clinch throughout the second and third rounds, Efe grew sharper as the fight progressed, landing consistently clean combinations that left little doubt about the outcome.

Carter Efe relied on disciplined movement, sharp combinations, and sustained pressure. Although Portable showed moments of aggression, he could not penetrate Efe’s tight defence.

Before the fight, Portable had issued a direct warning:

“I will use you to collect my third belt. Charles Okocha was bigger than you, Speed Darlington was bigger than you, and I beat them. I will beat you now.”

Efe’s response was short: “One punch and you fall.” He backed it up.

The ₦50 Million Prize

Lagos socialite E-Money wasted no time honouring his pledge after the final bell. “You know we put our money where our mouth is; congratulations Carter on your win. N50 million for you,” he said at ringside.

Portable’s Response

As expected, Portable did not take the loss quietly. In a live Instagram video, he claimed he had been robbed.

“I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional enough. He was struggling with his long hands and height. Any blow I threw at him ought to have counted, even if it met him on the shoulder,” he said.

However, he ended his rant on a personal note: “My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than a belt. You can buy the belt, but not my child.”

Classic Portable. Even in defeat, he found a way to make it his moment.
