From 2024 and 2025, some of the most talked-about Nigerian films were movies premiered on YouTube. What this means is that the platform has become a powerful distribution channel for Nollywood filmmakers and producers who would rather sidestep the politics of cinema or Netflix and Prime Video.
Here is a ranking of the biggest YouTube movie producers, based on popularity, subscriber strength, and overall audience reach. 
1. Ruth Kadiri – Ruth Kadiri 247
Ruth Kadiri is a YouTube movie producer pioneer. She began her career as a Nollywood actress and has since evolved into one of the biggest YouTube movie producers in Nigeria.
Ruth has over 3.58 million subscribers and more than 225 videos, including trailers, shorts and movies uploaded to YouTube. She definitely set the pace for Nollywood’s migration to YouTube and now almost everyone has a YouTube channel.
2. Uche Mbunabo – Uche Mbunabo TV
Uche Mbunabo is a Nigerian filmmaker and CEO of Cineworks Entertainment, known for producing popular movies like Celebrity Marriage and The Honeymoon Trip.
Uche has expanded his reach by creating a dedicated YouTube platform for his movies, where he has released over 228 videos and built a following of more than 3.4 million subscribers.
3.Omoni Oboli – Omoni Oboli TV
One of her most successful YouTube movies, Love in Every Word, recorded over 31 million views within nine months of its release. She was also YouTube Nigeria content creator of the year.
Omoni Oboli was known for writing and starring in the award-winning screenplay Wives on Strike.
These days, she has successfully transitioned into producing her own films, with YouTube serving as the primary distribution platform.
With over 1.7 million subscribers and more than 850 uploaded videos on the app, she is regarded as one of the biggest YouTube movie producers in Nigeria.
She also launched her own award academy, the Besties Choice Awards, to recognise and reward the actors and actresses featured in her productions.
4.Bimbo Ademoye – Bimbo Ademoye TV
Award-winning Nigerian actress Bimbo Ademoye is currently one of the top YouTube movie producers in Nigeria. She began her YouTube journey by releasing short series and skits, before moving into full-length movies.
Her movies such as ‘A Broken Hallelujah’, ‘Miles Away From You’, and most recently ‘Where Love Lives’ have received nationwide amazing reviews from fans across Nigeria and beyond.
Since her breakthrough on YouTube, Bimbo has released over 115 videos and grown her channel to more than 1.3 million subscribers.

5. Maurice Sam – Maurice Sam Tv
Maurice Sam is one of the top Nigerian YouTube movie producers who is not talked about enough.
With over 2.3 million subscribers and 139 videos released on the YouTube platform, he is considered one of the sweethearts of Nigerian YouTube movies. His movies usually get over one million views within weeks of release.
The YouTube movie making trend is getting more popular because YouTube movies are cheaper to produce and market. The filmmaker isn’t sharing profits with the cinema or platforms like Netflix, and in turn, people at home are entertained without paying a subscription.
