Today’s highly anticipated rematch between street-pop singer Portable and Nollywood actor Charles Okocha will take place at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Organisers have titled the fight “Unfinished Business”, marking a rematch of their controversial first encounter.
Both fighters have exchanged heated words ahead of the showdown, raising tensions on both sides. 
“I will be going against Portable, and it is going to be chaos. I promise, kill or be killed in that fight. It is not by noise and posturing. We will see in the ring,” Okocha said.
Portable mocked Okocha and repeated the claims he made before their previous fights. He said he defeated Okocha because he is the better fighter.
“You that I have beaten before, I will break your bones. Fight is coming,” Portable said, insisting he remained the better fighter and would prove it once again inside the ring.

Dr. Ezekiel Adamu, the event’s promoter, described the fight as “unfinished business” between the two rivals. He said Portable accepted the challenge after Okocha activated his rematch clause, believing he did not receive a fair platform during their first meeting.
Adamu also revealed that the fight card will feature an influencer bout between Mr. Real and Idowest, who have long disputed ownership of the term “Legbègbe” on social media.
He added that EV Automobiles has pledged two brand-new electric cars as prizes for the winners of the Portable-Okocha and Mr. Real-Idowest fights. He also confirmed that Bet9ja has joined EV Automobiles as a major sponsor of the event.
Adamu said Okocha trained in London alongside fighters such as Anthony Joshua, Lawrence Okolie, rising heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma, and world champion Daniel Dubois, all of whom have Nigerian roots. He stressed that the promotion extends beyond boxing.
“What we are doing is proper global storytelling. We are building champions here in Nigeria and Africa that belong to Africa,” Adamu said, adding that musicians, including Reminisce and Ice Prince, will accompany fighters to the ring, while all fighters and crew members will wear native attire.
Organisers said the build-up to the fight has generated more than two billion video views and 4.2 billion digital impressions across previous editions of the franchise. They stated that the event has helped elevate the profile of Nigerian boxing.
