Dogs Bark, She Says, When a Dead Husband Is Near

Pastor Adu dismissed the belief that the dead cannot see and called it a lie. She told her congregation that a dead man’s spirit stays around his wife, and she offered a sign for recognising its presence. According to her, a dog that barks almost constantly is seeing the dead man. She claimed the spirit lingers for five to six years before it leaves.

“They will tell you that the man is dead, that the dead can’t see, let me tell you, they are the people that can see. The dead is watching anytime a man that love the family so much and they say that this man is dead check the wife, you must know that the spirit of the man is still around, if you have a dog and the dog will begin to bark everytime to tell you that somebody is inside, the man will continue to be there for almost 5 years or 6 years before he leaves and you can’t do whatever with a widow, a widow still have somebody that is still by their side,” she said.

Online Users React

The video of the sermon quickly gained traction on X, where many users rejected her claims. Several argued that a woman should not lose the chance of love and affection because she has lost her husband.

The user @HAYZEDProS called the claim “a very fat lie.” The user wrote: “Once a woman’s husband’s dies. she’s no longer married to the man. She’s free to marry another man so how will sleeping with such a woman be wrong?” The same user added that women should not lead religious gatherings because they speak out of emotion.

@MaziNasir accused the pastor of inventing claims for attention. “Lies. This fake pastors can actually say anything to appear relevant or trend,” the user tweeted.

@HeiWaiXingRen questioned the logic of the warning. “So she should be denied love and affection because of a deceased partner. Nigerian preachers sometimes, make no sense,” the user wrote.
