A social media user’s comment about Veekee James’ frequent public appearances with her husband, Femi Atere, ignited a reaction from the celebrity fashion designer. Veekee addressed the criticism directly and explained why she and her husband choose to attend events together.
Veekee James rejected criticism from a social media user who questioned why she always attend events with her husband, Femi Atere.
In a video she posted on Snapchat on Sunday, Veekee responded to a troll who claimed her husband did not have “a life of his own” because people constantly spotted him with her. 
The fashion entrepreneur dismissed the claim and explained that she and her husband intentionally built their lives around each other. She added that marriage involves sharing life together.
“Yes, my husband does not have a life of his own. His life is my life, the same way I don’t have a life of my own.
“My life is his life. He is me and I am him. Together we are like padlock and key,” she said.
Veekee also responded sarcastically to her critics. She told them to keep their spouses away from their lives if that is how they believe marriage should work.
“When you marry your own, separate him. When you marry your own, remove him from your life and keep him somewhere else.
“You don’t know what marriage is. His life is mine, my life is his. Everything he is, is mine,” she said.

She maintained that marriage requires partners to share every aspect of their lives rather than live separate lives.
The designer also stated that she and her husband would continue attending public events together regardless of public opinion.
“You’ve not seen anything. You will see me and my husband anywhere possible, everywhere possible, you will see us,” she said.
Veekee ended the video on a humorous note and described her husband as her “personal handbag.”
This is not the first time critics have questioned Veekee James’ public appearances with her husband since their 2024 wedding. Many people have shared different opinions about their marriage and offered unsolicited advice on how she should manage her relationship.
