‘The Future Is You, the Youth’ – Aliko Dangote

Dangote welcomed the idea, saying he wanted to sit down with young people and share his experiences on Isbae U’s YouTube show..

He observed that many Nigerians knew little about former President Shehu Shagari, for example. However, younger audiences might be more familiar with former President Olusegun Obasanjo following his recent appearance on Isbae U’s show.

Dangote said platforms such as Curiosity Made Me Ask offered an opportunity to connect with the audience that had shown him significant support and respect.

He expressed interest in sharing lessons from his business journey and speaking directly to young Nigerians about his experiences.

Dangote Explains His Approach to Fans and Prayer

The billionaire also discussed his interactions with fans, particularly when travelling abroad. He said people accompanying him sometimes tried to prevent fans from taking photographs with him. However, he preferred to allow people to approach him because he enjoyed taking pictures with them.

Dangote also explained why he sometimes exercised caution around photographs. He recalled an incident in which someone photographed him praying and another person captioned the image as though he were begging.

Dangote rejected that interpretation, explaining that he had been thanking God for his blessings. He said his prayer expressed gratitude for what God had already given him rather than a request for more.

Dangote Promises a Relaxed Question-and-Answer Session

Dangote promised to appear on the show and said he wanted the conversation to be relaxed, allowing viewers to ask questions about his life and business journey.

He also expressed a desire to encourage young people to remain humble and recognise that anyone could achieve success.

During the conversation, Dangote faced a choice between giving up his private jet for a week and surrendering his phone for the same period.

His answer was emphatic: he said it would be easier to send him to jail than to take away his phone. Dangote described his phone as a “no-go area” and revealed that it contained more than 13,000 contacts.
