Do you have plans to migrate from Africa to Canada? Then a province in Canada is looking for skilled labor.
On February 11, from 6 to 10 p.m. GMT, the Newfoundland and Labrador government will host a virtual immigration and job fair for foreign skilled workers wanting to immigrate to Canada.

Registration is open until midnight (GMT) on February 11. You can register here.

Will You Get a Canadian Visa or Work Permit?
Hold your horses if you feel like they are just dashing visas and work permits. Signing up for the virtual event does not guarantee a Canadian visa or work permit, but it does provide opportunities to explore immigration options in Newfoundland and Labrador, look for jobs, and connect with potential employers.

Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible for a work permit or permanent residency, applicants typically need a full-time job offer from an in-province employer, with a minimum duration of one year.
The province particularly looks for skilled professionals in fields such as social work, kindergarten to grade 12 teaching (English and/or French), aviation, healthcare, early childhood education, construction, hospitality, retail, and food services, among others.
While specific job postings may be limited during the event, participants can still find future employment opportunities, as employers can access uploaded résumés throughout the year.
Therefore, it is wise to upload and regularly update one’s résumé on the platform. Newfoundland and Labrador recommends this downloadable template to format your résumé.
Goodluck!
