The Bilateral Intercultural Carnival Association (BICCA) has inducted Fuji music legend Alhaji Ayinla Kollington as one of its grand patrons. The organisation is also preparing for its maiden cultural carnival, which it says will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
BICCA Executive Director Wale Adeyinka said the induction recognises Kollington’s contribution to Nigerian music. He also highlighted the Fuji icon’s role in promoting peace and national unity.
The planned carnival will showcase Nigeria’s cultural diversity. It will also feature performances from leading Nigerian musicians. 
BICCA Explains Its Mission
Adeyinka said BICCA was established to promote unity, peace and security across Nigeria. He added that the organisation wants to use culture to highlight what it describes as the positive impact of Tinubu’s reforms.
“BICCA is out to promote unity, peace, security and the positive impacts of the reform of the administration,” Adeyinka said.
According to him, Nigeria’s cultural diversity can provide a platform for political engagement ahead of the 2027 election.
“We believe that the president means well for Nigeria,” he said. “He is already positioning Nigeria in the right direction, and we want to use the diversity of our culture to support him come 2027.”
The organisation’s position reflects its stated political support for Tinubu’s second-term bid. Meanwhile, the group plans to bring together cultural displays from different parts of the country during the carnival.

Kollington Joins Cultural Carnival Drive
BICCA said the maiden carnival will take place later this year. It will feature traditional and cultural displays from across Nigeria. Leading music artistes are also expected to perform during the event.
Adeyinka said the carnival would be dedicated to Tinubu as a demonstration of BICCA’s support for his re-election. He said the organisation would continue building momentum before the event. More prominent Nigerians, entertainers and traditional rulers are also expected to join BICCA’s initiative.
For Kollington, the new role adds another public dimension to his decades-long career in Nigerian music. BICCA said his induction recognises both his musical contributions and his influence in promoting peace and national unity.
The organisation will now focus on preparations for the carnival as it seeks to combine cultural celebration with its political advocacy ahead of 2027.
