Now that we are in January 2026, we can look back at December 2025 and really analyse what went down.
At some point, it felt like almost every famous person was in Nigeria. Whether they came to perform shows or to experience the culture or to visit family and friends, this December, like many others, was a wild time of fun and, sadly, some tragedy.
Here’s a Rundown of the Detty December Class of 2025, Foreign Celebs Edition:
1. Ayo Edebiri
One person we were shocked to see in Nigeria was Ayo; this Emmy Award winner is of Nigerian descent, but she wasn’t born or brought up in Nigeria. Sources say she came to hang out with her friend, blacklist actor Toheeb Jimoh, and his family. 
2. India Amarteifio
Queen Charlotte from the Bridgerton franchise, India Amarteifio is part Ghanaian, so it was definitely jarring seeing her in Nigeria with Ayo Edebiri and Toheeb. She even participated in many TikTok videos with Toheeb’s family and friends.
3. Anthony Joshua
British Nigerian boxer, Anthony Joshua is in Nigeria every December and spends his time at his family house in Ogun State. Unfortunately, his December was one of his saddest, as he got into an accident and lost his two best friends.

4. Central Cee
The UK’s biggest rapper, Central Cee, had a show in Nigeria and spent nights in clubs with Nigerian celebrities and content creators.
5. Busta Rhymes
This legendary US rapper was in Nigeria for Livespot’s Detty Dec Fest.
6. Wale
Wale definitely loves Nigeria and visits anytime he wants to; he also had shows he played at.
7. Gunna
He was part of the late delegation and headlined Detty Dec Fest. He had a warm welcome from Teni the Entertainer and hung out in clubs with Burna Boy, Wizkid and many content creators.
8. Madame Joyce
“I am not Zlatan!” This UK-based Nigerian-British podcaster always makes a splash in Nigeria. She comes for the vibes but stays for the controversy.
9. Shenseea
This Jamaica baddie, Shenseea, had a show in Nigeria but stayed long after, visiting the beach and spending New Year.
1O. DDG
Rapper, YouTuber and streamer from the US, DDG was in Nigeria to have fun with his fellow streamers and content creators.
