Davido, a Nigerian musician, has shared plans for the David Adeleke School of Music and Performing Arts at Babcock University.
The singer posted a prototype of the proposed building on Instagram. The design looks like a grand piano, and the project could be completed around 2028. Davido hopes the school will help more young people learn music and develop their talents.
Davido graduated from Babcock University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. He had earlier left the university to focus on his music career following the success of his hit song, Dami Duro.

The Babcock project is not his first move towards music education in Africa. In March 2024, Davido launched a Faculty of Music and Arts at the International University of East Africa in Uganda.
Kenning Homes Limited takes credit for the proposed Babcock University complex.

Davido’s Journey in the Music Industry
Davido has spent years building his name in the African music industry. Although he comes from a wealthy family, he has continued to work on his music and grow his career.
His success goes beyond Nigeria, as he has performed to sold-out crowds in different parts of the world. Over the years, he has built a large fan base, with many listeners connecting with his songs.
His contribution to the entertainment industry has also made him one of Africa’s most recognisable music stars. His fans continue to show him love, while his music reaches audiences across different countries.

Davido Turns His Attention to Music Education
The proposed school at Babcock University gives Davido another opportunity to support people who want to build careers in music. Through the project, aspiring musicians could have a place to learn, improve their skills and gain the knowledge they need to work in the industry.
For Davido, the project also brings his journey back to the university where he earned his music degree. His plans could help other young people pursue the same field and take their musical ambitions seriously.
