Arsenal teenager Max Dowman has been presented with three official Guinness World Records certificates. This caps a breakthrough campaign in which the 16-year-old helped the Gunners win their first league title in over two decades.
The certificates recognise Dowman as the youngest player to appear in the Champions League (15 years, 308 days). He is also the youngest Premier League goalscorer (16 years, 73 days) and the youngest Premier League winner (16 years, 144 days).
The achievements also earned him the opening player profile in the Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, in its “Class of ’27” section. Editor Tom Beckerlegge said Dowman “sums up what the Class of ’27 is all about.”
How Max Dowman broke the Champions League record
Dowman replaced Leandro Trossard in the 72nd minute against Slavia Prague, with Arsenal already leading 3-0. That appearance on November 4, 2025, made him the youngest player in the competition’s history. He beats Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko’s record by 75 days.
It came weeks after his Premier League debut against Leeds in August. Dowman is still in school. So under Premier League rules for under-18s he changes in a separate locker room from the senior squad.

Max Dowman’s late goal against Everton
On March 14, 2026, Dowman made the Premier League record his own. He collected the ball in his own half, dribbled past two Everton players and tapped into an empty net. That left goalkeeper Jordan Pickford stranded upfield for a corner. He broke James Vaughan’s record of 16 years, 270 days, set in 2005.
Arsenal won 2-0, and the result stretched their lead at the top to nine points in a race that ended with their first title since 2004.
Dowman finished the campaign with six Premier League appearances, enough for a winner’s medal. He was later named in the matchday squad for the Champions League final.
He has carried that form into the new season, scoring twice against Ipswich in the League Cup. This makes him the second-youngest player after Wayne Rooney to score twice in a match for a Premier League club.
With a title medal, three world records and a place in Guinness’s 2027 edition, Max Dowman’s challenge now is to turn history-making cameos into a regular first-team role.
