Sharon Ademefun may be widely known as Davido’s elder sister, but there is more to her story than her relationship with the Afrobeats star.
The entrepreneur recently opened up about her life during an interview on The Morayo Show. She spoke about motherhood, marriage, entrepreneurship and growing up in the Adeleke family.
Sharon also discussed the less visible role she plays in Davido’s career. She serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of his record label and has worked with his management team since the early years of his career. 
The mother of three also shared what it was like growing up with wealth. According to her, the public perception of children from wealthy families does not always match their reality.
Sharon has worked with Davido from the beginning
Sharon said she has always had a close relationship with her younger brother.
“I’ve always taken care of David. He’s always been my baby,” she said.
That relationship eventually extended into his music career. According to Sharon, she joined Davido’s management team from the beginning and now serves as CFO of his label.
Working with a sibling, however, comes with disagreements. Sharon said their relationship allows her to tell Davido things other people around him may hesitate to say. She admitted that this often leads to arguments between them.
One recurring disagreement involves his spending. She revealed that they hold finance meetings every week because she wants him to understand where his money goes. Cars and jewellery regularly come up during those conversations.
“One of the major things that I’m always getting on my brother about is jewellery and cars,” she said. “I always say, ‘David, please, no more cars.’”
When asked whether Davido really has the famous “30 billion” associated with his music, Sharon avoided revealing any financial details. She simply said she had signed a non-disclosure agreement while mouthing yes.

Growing up wealthy did not mean unlimited access to money
Sharon also addressed assumptions about what life looks like for children born into wealthy families. She said the Adeleke children grew up differently from how people may view their lives today. According to her, wealthy families can still place financial limits on their children.
“When you are born into a family of a family wealth structure, there is structure,” she explained.
She said children in such families do not necessarily have unrestricted access to money. Instead, parents can give them budgets and expect them to stay within those limits.
“A lot of Nepo babies don’t have as much access to cash as you may think,” she said. “They have more than the average person, but it’s not unlimited.”
Sharon also linked some of the family’s approach to their father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke. She described him as a serial entrepreneur who spent much of his time building businesses while they were growing up.
Now that she runs businesses herself, Sharon said she understands that commitment differently. She also noted that her father now has more time for his grandchildren.
She learnt wig-making because she was frustrated
Outside the Adeleke family businesses and Davido’s music career, Sharon has built her own business interests. She runs Rona Wigs Studio and Rona Group.
Interestingly, she said frustration pushed her into wig-making. Sharon explained that good hairstylists were often difficult to book because they were busy. Rather than continue dealing with the problem, she went online and taught herself how to make wigs. Her interest eventually developed into a business.
Sharon was born in the United States and spent much of her earlier life in the US and United Kingdom. She later decided to try living in Nigeria and moved back in 2008.
She told Morayo that she has enjoyed the decision and loves living in the country. Recent reports on the interview also confirm her account of relocating to Nigeria in 2008.
Sharon also spoke about her approach to marriage
The entrepreneur also discussed her marriage and why honesty played an important role from the beginning. Sharon has been married to Yomi Ademefun since 2013.
She said she made it clear early in their relationship that she did not want what she described as a traditional type of marriage. One conversation about cooking helped establish that expectation.
Sharon recalled cooking for her husband during the early stages of their relationship. After confirming that he enjoyed the meal, she told him she knew how to cook but did not enjoy doing it. She wanted him to understand that before marriage.
For Sharon, the conversation reflected her preference for communication rather than allowing assumptions about traditional roles to define their relationship.
Beyond being Davido’s sister and Adeleke’s daughter, Sharon is a mother of three, an entrepreneur and a wife. She also handles financial responsibilities within one of Nigeria’s biggest music brands.
