President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, as she turns 66 with a sweet birthday tribute straight from his heart.
The President praised Remi’s unwavering support him and also reflected on the role she has played throughout his political journey.
Tinubu Praises His Wife’s Strength
In his birthday message, Tinubu described Remi as a woman of patience, grace and courage. 
“Today, I celebrate the woman who has walked beside me with patience, grace and uncommon courage,” he wrote.
He also quoted a Yoruba proverb, saying: “Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀.” He translated it as: “A good wife is her husband’s crown.”
According to Tinubu, Remi has given the proverb deeper meaning throughout their marriage. He said she has stood beside him through difficult moments and shared the burdens that came with his public life.
‘Your Presence Alone Was Counsel Enough’
The President said Remi often understands his concerns before he explains them. He described her as his “truest friend and confidante”. Tinubu also praised her honesty, particularly when he needs advice he might not want to hear.
“There have been nights when your presence alone was counsel enough,” he said.
He added that Remi often waits until they are alone before giving him difficult advice. For Tinubu, that honesty remains one of the qualities he values most in their relationship.
Remi’s Impact Beyond Their Family
Tinubu also praised his wife for her devotion to their children and grandchildren. He said their family has grown under the protection of her prayers, faith and kindness.
Beyond their home, he highlighted her humanitarian work across Nigeria. He mentioned the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative, which have supported vulnerable Nigerians.
According to Tinubu, her efforts have reached young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers. He also praised her advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other illnesses.

‘I Would Choose the Same Road Again’
The President said Remi’s compassion extends beyond ethnic, regional and religious boundaries. He noted that she often helps people quietly without seeking recognition.
“I know the prayers you offer for people whose names you may never know,” Tinubu said.
“I also know many whom you have helped without ever meeting them,” he described her compassion as consistent and selfless.
As she marks her 66th birthday, Tinubu’s message reflects nearly four decades of marriage, 39 precisely, family and shared public life.
From his time as a senator and Lagos State governor to the presidency, Remi has remained by his side. As Tinubu prepares for the 2027 presidential election, the First Lady has also continued her public engagements across Nigeria.
