In a casual TikTok Live on Monday evening of September 14, Tems gave fans update on her upcoming music and album. She mentioned doing a Christian album, which stood out.
The two-time Grammy winner gave her timeline on her releases:
“Definitely an album like next year. I don’t know whether I’m doing an album this year but music, this year for sure. But I’m not sure about dropping an album this year,” she said. 
This means a new music by Tems will drop before 2026 ends and a full album is confirmed for next year. The “Love Me Jeje” singer also played a short teaser of the unreleased music during the session. She gave fans a quick taste of what she is cooking.

The Upcoming Christian Album by Tems
On the TikTok Live session a viewer asked if she would do a Christian project. Tems didn’t skip the question, instead she replied saying:
“Yeah, I will. I want to, you know, everybody has something to say about my music these days. I might as well do everything.”
The R&B singer has always been open about her Christian faith. Instead of shutting the conversation down, she’s leaning into the possibility of covering every lane, which includes a Christian one.

She’s Already A Gospel Award-Winning Artist
In 2024, Tems won the Dr Bobby Jones Best Gospel/ Inspirational Award at the BET Awards for her single “Me & U.”
Tems clinched the award in the category which had other nominees who were established gospel names including Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, Maverick City Music, and Shirley Caesar.
It was a surprising feat especially because “Me & U” was never a traditional church music. Tems later explained that the visuals were about Jesus teaching her to walk on water and trust Him. Hence, it was because of this spiritual connection that the song earned the official recognition in the gospel/ inspirational category.
Tems has shared before that her mother strictly allowed only Christian music in the house when she was growing up.
So when she says she wants to make a Christian project and “might as well do everything,” it’s more of an artist acknowledging the full range of what people already hear in her music and deciding she might just deliver it all.
