Nigerian streamer Carter Efe has claimed that his 2022 hit song Machala featuring Berri Tiga contributed to the success Wizkid has recorded so far.
Carter Efe made the claim during a recent interview with Yanga FM. He expressed his interest in facing the Afrobeats star in a celebrity boxing match.
Speaking about Machala, Carter argued that the success of the tribute song benefited both of them.
“Me and Wizkid share glory, I drop Machala, the song enter number one. Even though say na me make money, why he no fit acknowledge me?” he said.
The content creator said Wizkid’s failure to publicly acknowledge him after the song’s success changed how he viewed the singer.
“As he no acknowledge me, me sef no acknowledge am again,” he added.
Machala became Carter Efe’s breakout song in 2022. He released the track as a tribute to Wizkid, whom he openly admired at the time.
His recent comments show how much that admiration has changed. Carter has repeatedly expressed disappointment over what he considers a lack of recognition from Wizkid.
He also used the Yanga FM interview to challenge Wizkid to a boxing match. Carter said he would accept the fight without receiving any money. Instead, he suggested that organisers could offer Wizkid $1 million to participate.
“Make them no even pay any money, I swear to God, make them pay Wizkid 1 million dollars,” he said.
He then called for Wizkid to meet him at Chaos in the Ring.
Carter already has experience in Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing scene. He defeated Portable by unanimous decision in May 2026 and is currently scheduled to face Speed Darlington on October 1 at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
Wizkid has not publicly accepted Carter Efe’s latest challenge.
