Veteran actor Adewale Elesho has spoken about the recent rumours claiming that he has cancer following a sore on his face that attracted public attention. The sore was noticed during the burial of his late colleague, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, Ogogo.

The actor spoke during an interview with BBC, where he dismissed claims that he has cancer because of the wound on his face.

Elesho Dismisses Cancer Claims

Declaring himself fit, Eleso said:

“If someone has Cancer will he be able to to drive around and run errands himself”

He continued:

“It’s a minor Injury but the problem was that when the injury appeared on my face, I didn’t go to the right channel. I was going to the pharmacy store”

Elesho explained that the injury will heal with time. He said he initially thought the injury was minor and would heal quickly, which prompted him to visit a pharmacy instead of seeking treatment through the appropriate medical channel.

The veteran actor explained that the injury later required further medical attention after he initially treated it as a minor problem.

ANTP Addresses Cancer Rumours

The Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) also dismissed rumours that veteran actor Adewale “Wale” Elesho is battling cancer.

The association, which Elesho was once its president, said the veteran actor recently underwent successful facial surgery.

ANTP issued the clarification after concerns emerged over the open wound on Elesho’s face, as reports circulated on social media claiming that the veteran actor was suffering from cancer.

The association explained that the actor’s condition resulted from the facial injury and confirmed that he underwent a successful operation.

ANTP urged members of the public to disregard the cancer reports and continue to pray for Elesho’s full recovery.
