Musawa highlighted ex-husband’s rich family heritage and values. She emphasised on how he has spent decades turning enterprise into impact through the BUA Group and the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa).

The minister noted Abdul Samad’s dedicated investments in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and job creation across Nigeria and the wider continent.

“Through BUA and ASR Africa, you turn fortune into service without delay,” the Minister wrote. “In Africa and global business, your example shows that enterprise can serve humanity without straying from purpose.”

Musawa eulogises the quiet strength behind the headlines

While the public knows Abdul Samad as one of Africa’s leading industrialists, Musawa, having known him for over 30 years, revealed his lesser-known qualities, a man of deep faith, discipline, and quiet compassion.

“I celebrate the heart behind the name, and the vision you place on display,” she wrote. “I’ve watched your wisdom through challenges, and your kindness that keeps fear at bay.”

She praised his leadership for setting an example that inspires courage in entrepreneurs, young professionals, and communities across Nigeria.

Hannatu prays for long life and fulfilment for Abdul Samad

Musawa concluded her tribute with prayers for Rabiu’s continued grace, protection, and fulfilment:

“May Allah increase your Iman, bless your children, and guide you closer to Jannah. May barakah surround your life, and may every act of kindness you have chosen be recorded,” she wrote.

She further wrote:

“At 66, may you remain the wonderful man whose light inspires more than words could ever say. Samad, may Allah keep you, bless you, and cherish you always. Happy 66th birthday!”

Abdul Samad Isyaku Rabiu founded and leads BUA Group, one of Africa’s largest conglomerates with major holdings in cement, sugar, food, and infrastructure. Through ASR Africa, he actively drives large-scale philanthropy across the continent, earning widespread recognition for his contributions to national development.

Though divorced, Musawa and Abdul Samad maintain a close bond as co-parents. In a recent interview on the MIC ON Podcast, the minister described the billionaire industrialist not only as the father of her children, but as her brother, best friend, cheerleader, and protector.
