The quiet Awada community in Anambra State woke up to shocking allegations that have left many residents stunned. A pastor who once commanded the trust and loyalty of his congregation now stands at the center of a growing controversy involving claims of manipulation, wife-swapping, and the alleged takeover of married women within his church.
Operatives of the Agunechemba Security Squad arrested Pastor Harrison Charles Anazodo, the founder of DaySpring Assembly in Awada, Onitsha, following multiple allegations against him.
According to reports, several church members accused the pastor of manipulating married women, encouraging wife-swapping among members, and taking some members’ wives for himself. Some allegations claim that he distributed married women to loyal church elders and associates.

The Anambra State Government confirmed the pastor’s arrest and handed him over to the police for further investigation. The government stated that it has launched a joint investigation with the Anambra State Police Command to determine the truth behind the allegations.
Residents of Awada said rumours about suspicious activities in the church had circulated for some time, but many people feared speaking out. Following the pastor’s arrest, several church members reportedly expressed their willingness to provide information to investigators, provided their identities remain protected.

Reports also claim that some individuals who attempted to challenge the pastor’s activities in the past backed down after hearing that he had influential connections.
The Publicity Secretary of the Agunechemba Security Squad, Mr. Nweke Nweke, confirmed that the pastor remains in custody but declined to comment further because investigations are still ongoing.
In a statement, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Media, Dr. Ejimofor Opara, said the arrest followed a viral video containing several allegations against the pastor. He urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist investigators.

Dr. Opara also revealed that security operatives found eleven babies in the pastor’s residence during the arrest. According to him, the pastor claimed that he fathered all eleven children with eleven different wives.
Authorities have not yet secured a court conviction against the pastor, and investigations remain ongoing. The outcome of the investigation will determine the validity of the allegations and any possible legal actions against him.
